Rugby League 2019
So Michael Maguire is going to the Tigers to allow Ivan Cleary to go to the Panthers, while Siebold and Bennett seem sure to swap places in 2019 (a year before their contracts say so).
Meanwhile...
"JARRYD Hayne says he’s resigned to the belief he probably won’t play for Parramatta in 2019 and will need to look elsewhere.
Parramatta’s NRL squad return to training on Thursday but at this stage Hayne won’t be there, with the two-time Dally M Medallist still without a contract for next season.
...
It comes as The Daily Telegraph reports interest in Hayne from French rugby."
-------------------------------------------------
At least there is no mention of St George.

Re: Rugby League 2019
Oh no!!!!
"St George Illawarra have expressed interest in the services of Jarryd Hayne and will meet with the off-contract back about the prospect of joining the Dragons next season.
While Parramatta returned for pre-season training last week, Hayne was nowhere to be seen.
NRL.com understands Hayne and the Dragons have been in dialogue over the past few days, with Hayne set to meet club officials as discussions with the Eels have come to a halt.
St George Illawarra were initially reluctant to explore the option of luring Hayne to the joint venture, however, given he is still a free agent they have changed their tune."

Re: Rugby League 2019
FFS!!
"The Dragons are reportedly ready to let go of boom youngster Matt Dufty if it means luring off-contract star Jarryd Hayne to the club.
Ramping up their effort to sign the 30-year-old former NSW and Australia fullback, the Dragons are believed to be ready to release Dufty to free up the necessary funds, Fairfax is reporting.
The 22-year-old is a local junior who remains off contract at the end of next season with rival clubs now able to compete for his signature.
However, with pre-season already underway for most clubs, options for Dufty in 2019 are slim.
After making his debut in 2017, Dufty’s speed and agility made him a fast favourite with Dragons fans but his diminutive size is believed to be a sticking point.
In 2018 he played all 26 games for the Dragons, scoring 13 tries.
Without Hayne, the Dragons are lacking size and power in their backline after releasing Nene Macdonald to North Queensland. They would need to release Dufty in order to get close to Hayne’s asking price of $700,000."
--------------------------------------
Nice slap in the face to the outstanding Dufty.

Can't see what Hayne will add other than someone to hate and blame for defeats. Cattiest cat to ever cat on a football field.

Jarryd Hayne faces police probe
Deborah CornwallNovember 15, 2018
The future of rugby league star Jarryd Hayne is under a cloud tonight following allegations he sexually assaulted a woman on grand final night, with such force she suffered visible injuries.
The Australian understands the woman was treated by her doctor at the time but did not make any formal complaint until this week, when she approached the NRL’s integrity unit.
The NRL immediately referred her to detectives at the NSW Sex Crimes Squad, who today took a formal statement from the woman.
Sources have confirmed the alleged sexual assault occurred on September 30 in the Hunter Region after Hayne was contacted by the woman on social media and met her at a house.
The woman reported the pair had sex but it was so rough she suffered injuries during the encounter. She later had photographs taken as evidence to support her claims.
Hayne has yet to be interviewed by detectives, though police have questioned other witnesses about the 30-year-old’s movements that night.
Haynes is not signed to an NRL club for next season but he was still under contract with the Parramatta Eels at the time of the alleged incident.
Hayne has been embroiled in a civil case in the US over claims he raped a woman while he was under contract to the San Francisco 49ers.
Hayne has strongly denied the claims and San Jose Police Department investigated but did not press charges.
The NSW Sex Crimes squad have refused to comment on their investigation.
Hayne’s long-time manager, Wayne Beavis, tonight declined to comment on the allegations.

Suspect the Nags will go to court to avoid paying the disgraceful Whine out. They are already hinting at behavioural issues.

Hijacking club policy via a presser and coaching another team whilst under contract certainly gives them enough ammo.

Looks like Q is spot-on...
"The Brisbane Broncos reportedly sacked Wayne Bennett for a breach of his contract after it was revealed the master coach had been in contact with Souths players and was even organising a pre-season camp.
The move is believed to have cost Bennett the million-dollar payout he was holding out for.
...
“That’s why it didn’t come to a head earlier. They just didn’t want to sack him. But once they saw Anthony Seibold’s email and they saw that he’d been ringing the players, cancelling Anthony Seibold’s pre-season camp. It’s basically a sackable offence.”
It ended a month-long stand-off, with Bennett now set to head to South Sydney to replace Seibold.
...
According to the Telegraph the Broncos determined this was a clear breach of Bennett’s contract and sacked him. It is likely that Bennett will lose a payout for the final year of his contract. It is understood that figure would have been around $900,000."
------------------------------------------------------------
At least this shit is over and the 2 clubs can now get on with things.

Re: Rugby League 2019
I wonder if someone in the Broncs exec team is even more Machiavellian than Bennet?
I wonder if someone in Broncs MGT played Bennet.
"Fellas let's just lay down the law to the prick, tell him that's it, and wait for his brand of Tourette's to kick in and give us cause".
