Re: Rugby League 2019
That will be 3 current or former Bennett teams in a row!

Always good to see the Bronchialos choke it up.
In Leeeeg it really is a toss up which of Brisbane or Manly is the more odious.

Horrie's only bitter that Melbourne got toasted by the salary cap and he has a chip over Brisbane's perceived rotting.

Geez, how erratic are the Worriers?? Looked like world-beaters in round 1 (albeit v useless Dogs) and have been rubbish since. Nits no better.
Storm look ominously good.

Hardly. I dont mind the Stormies, but that they are just one of three Leeeg teams I take an interest in,
Growing up a South Melbourne supporter, I was attracted to South Sydney because of the name and the Drags because of the likeness of jumpers.
The Bunnies are now beyond the pale this year because of Whine Bennett.
It is nigh on impossible to have anything but antipathy for the Bronkettes if you lived for any period of time in Brisbanal. I watched what they did to the Crushers, they had Whine and plenty of thugs like Tallis who were more than willing to throw their weight around off the field. Their local fans for me became the purest expression of Chip Central; mean, small minded, on the edge of violence, arrogant and not very bright.
Manly, I learned to loathe. Arrogant toss bags who were a disaster in the Super Leeeg wars. It was the likes of Manly, Eastern Suburbs, Brisbane and Canterbury who were all too happy to see South Sydney and North Sydney be booted.

Re: Rugby League 2019
Well as an old Bears fan I understand your sentiment, but Manly and East's arrogant control of the game was ended by the SL war.
The broncs are a Qld team but as I've said before the only reason not to cede SEQ to NSW is the Gabba. Even the GC is an over rated tip full Mexicans on the lam or on the fiddle.

Aye. The Go Co is full of shifty types.
CNQ and FNQ types used to crack me up when they would go bonkers about the reds in Brisbane. Twenty years ago there was an appetite for dividing Qld, among Northerners anyway. Is it still there?

I experienced this first hand also, when I headed up an engineering department in a NSW office of a Qld company. When SoO rolled around or the Nags won, the Qld employees in the Brisvegas office (which I dealt with on a daily basis) became unbearable numpties, even though I constantly reminded them that they were getting me mixed up with someone who gave a rat's arse.
They never tired of telling me they were getting even for "all those years of NSW smashing Qld" prior to SoO. No wonder we call them Chippies.

Re: Rugby League 2019
Pops up every now and then, normally a northern mayor which normally means there's a scandal around the corner.
For the most decentralized state the centralisation of services is criminal, but when it does come up the local (only) rag devotes it's first dozen pages and an editorial debunking the move as economically disastrous. There figures are rubbery at best and more likely out and out fabrications.
As for the SoO, yeah using our own players against us was just typical spiv gutlessness and as the Foley Shield was always stronger(CoI: I.played a few games) of n the event of a secession we expect to fairly well.

Re: Rugby League 2019
Back in our ABC forum days I used to despair a little about the rabid interstate "hatred" and said so often. I soon realised it was easier to join in rather than rail against it.

Re: Rugby League 2019
Read the "Constitution Papers" rabid interstate hatred is nothing new. Qlders (and htf did autocorrect just turn that into Aldershot) are like yorkshiremen, the closer you live to the South the more suspect you are. It's bullshit that George RR Martin based his novels on the War of the Roses, he'd been snorkelling on the reef.

Yeah. Vic's are so even tempered. Not like I've ever been run out of Natimuk when the Big V lost to SA.

My personal interactions with Vomits has them as pretty reasonable sort of folk - except when it comes to footy. Then they turn into rabid nutcases.

Yeah not rabid nutcases at all. The beer run I got volunteered for, being older and without a military style haircut, necessitated two changes of cars, a stop at a Horsham costume shop(word had got around) and a signed affidavit that I "am not now, nor have I ever been in anyway associated with that bunch of sick Canberra qunts currently at the Arapiles campsite."

R00ters way, way too good for the Nags tonight.
Geez Louise, Easts are missing some key players but still look unbeatable. Will be interested to see how bad Cronk's injury from tonight is.

Qmy... wtf were you doing in Natimuk? Never envisaged you as a rock clamberer or were you there for the festival?
Natimuk is one of the rare towns in that part of the world that enjoys a growing population

Re: Rugby League 2019
Been rock climbing since I was a kid. I was on an enforced leave of absence from my regular job, back home for the first time in five years and was asked to do a consultancy with the def Dept and at that stage needed some high level friends. Some cadets were going rock climbing and asked me to come along. Sold it to me as like hashing but with rock climbing.

Geez the Nags were poor last night, but once a class side like the R00ters get on top, they are hard to come back against.

They're combinations are either all wrong or not working. Cows are farked and the Titans well. Could be a good year on the punt. No baggage involved.
