Re: Corona Virus
Nearly 3000 deaths in the USA over the past 24 hours. Just hideous.

Trumps legacy
Aye... and he does not give a rats. Many of the dead would have attended Trump no mask events. Other attendees would have infected others who have died or sustained long term illness. I wonder how many voters he lost via death or being to sick to vote.
There are now 100,000 Americans being treated for CV in hospital. I have no regard for our govts - state or Federal - but each actively addressed the issue as best they could. Trump and a heap of State govts there have been appalling.

Re: Corona Virus
Aus deserves great credit for doing the hard yards to beat Covid.
The Yanks are just too entitled and lazy to do it hard.

Re: Corona Virus
Meanwhile its been confirmed that the cleaner who contracted covid caught it from a quarantine hotel she cleaned.
Now we wait to see if she's spread it. She was wearing a mask on all her trips to and from work but who knows.

Re: Corona Virus
Given how out of control it is, I would ban entry from the USA. This would include air line staff and planes that have been to the USA in the past month.

Re: Corona Virus
Thanks folks. My 62 year old colleague apparently had the symptoms for a couple weeks and self prescribed on paracetemol. By the time they shifted him to a hospital he was struggling.
Moral of the story (from my own experience of getting COVID, and his)
1. If you have any symptoms, get a test if possible and start to follow protocol with the help of medical professionals. Doesn't matter if you have to test every week.
2. There's really no magic bullet yet, so your best chance is of detecting it early and taking just as early whatever medication they prescribe.
3. See #1 and #2.

Re: Corona Virus
This is how it has gone:
First one read of it in China and other nations
Then in India, in other cities to other people.
Then your city to other people.
Then your city to friends of friends.
Then friends, or relatives of friends. And colleagues.
Then I got it.
With about 1 in 10 cases dying all the way.

Oh and another thing. Now that most folk are going about their business (that's the way it is here, dunno about other nations)
Masks are good.
And keep sanitising/ washing your hands like you're a Nazi concentration camp SS officer with a conscience.
The rest is up to Allah.

Re: Corona Virus
Looks like it came from an international air crew (the strain is a US version), it somehow got to the Avalon RSL on the Northern Beaches and it's boomed from there.
Ferkin annoying.
Gladys has now cracked down on international air crews, who are now only allowed to stay at 2 heavily policed hotels in Sydney, as the crews can't be trusted to maintain quarantine. Apparently* a pilot or hostie has wandered out of his/her hotel and spread this farker.

We should not accept any landings from crew who have been to the US or anyone from the US for that matter.
