Australian Contracts 2021-22
Looks like CA have finally had a clear out. Gone are Joe Burns, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis and, sadly, Will Pucovski.
The list is Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, Tim Paine, James Pattinson, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Adam Zampa.
Surprised that Kane Richardson got a gig.I've always regarded him as a fringe player. Also looks to be a bit light on in the batting dept.

Seems to be a lot of players from the state that was just thumped by Qld in the shield final...you know....the one with the dud bowling attack.

Head and Puke are strange choices.

still should be 15 contracts at the top tier. those viewed as next in line can get a marginal increase above their domestic contract pay,

I can’t see an obvious Test opener other than Warner?

A player can still be selected without a contract, Opportunities exist for players to be upgraded to the list by gaining selection and maintaining their places in national teams.

Indeed. One would think some early season runs for Puke would see him selected as Warner's partner.
Hopefully Burns is not given another shot.

Re: Australian Contracts 2021-22
Sends a message to all Shield openers that if they score runs, they're in with a shot.
Leading contenders to partner the despised Warner would include Harris, Pucovski, Bancroft, and (regrettably) Burns. Henry Hunt of SA and Sam Whiteman would be the dark horses.
