Re: Rugby League 2023
Similar game to last night.
All Souths for first 30 mins to be up 10-0, then the R00ters hit back with 2 quick tries to tie it up.
A very late penalty gave the Bunnies the Oranges lead at 12-10.

Re: Rugby League 2023
Unsurprisingly poorly, Nath. Just WTF is the Club's defensive coach, because he has NFI.
Looks like the writing is on the wall, at last, for Coach Hook. He's been told to reapply for his own job and that the club is talking to other available possible replacements.
Geez my club has a penchant for horrendous decisions. In recent years extending Mary's coaching contract after a couple of early season wins, buying the woeful Corey Norman, and appointing the poorly performed Griffin as coach, all stand out.

coach must have brought out the witches-hats at training, and the players thought they needed to play like them

Re: Rugby League 2023
Cracking game tonight. Congrats to the Eels for getting off the mark for season 2023.
They were the better side but 2 idiot plays in the dying seconds lead to much drama.
First, Eel Paulo hit a Penrith attacker high with a 20 seconds on the clock. Cleary kicked for touch then with the only play left dropped a 40m field goal to tie it up. Extra time.
Then in only the 2nd set of 6 of extra time Penrith hooker Kenny hit Sivo high in a ridiculous play (brainless forwards just make me shake my head). Same deal, Moses kicked out, then 3 plays later kicked the winning field goal.

Re: Rugby League 2023
Error-riddled game tonight between the Nags and the Dolphs in the inargural Battle of Brisbane, but exciting nonetheless.
Broncs just too good in the end against a brave Dolphins outfit.
The Dolphins were crueled by some excellent last-ditch defence by the Broncos, and lost the game (at 12-14) attempting to win it, when a grubber near the Brisbane line was snaffled by Katoni Staggs, who ran the length to seal the win.
I fear the lack of cattle in the Dolphins squad is about to stuff them. They lost playmaker O'Sullivan tonight to a shoulder injury, and Milford (who looks fat) is just not the answer.
I reckon they'll start to fade down the table from here.
As for the Broncos, I wish the Drags had their defensive coach. They defence was brutal all night and never gave in. They look top 4 for sure.
In the other game, the Storm kept the Tigers winless with a 24-12 win. A long season ahead for the black and orange.

Re: Rugby League 2023
Just caught the highlights of the two Friday games.
Jesus, the Raiders' defence is as bad as the Dragons'. There is clearly a dearth of decent defensive coaches in the NRL.
And it looks like the Storm have to keep Munster fit. He was back and the Storm beat the Bunnies. Without him they are rudderless.

Re: Rugby League 2023
I see the Pennies scraped home v the Nits courtesy of 2 late FGs from the super-chin.
Nags back on top after knocking over the Tits.
And the Squall fell over to Manly.

Because you had money on a Bunnies win, or you're not a Pennies fan?

Stupid question really, skully.
If JGK had had money on the Bunnies, they’d have lost.

LOL @ Idiot Tits.
They were up 26-0 after 28 minutes then clocked off and got run down by the Dolphins 28-26.

Re: Rugby League 2023
So the Drags continued their journey to the bottom 4 after a one point loss to the R00ters yesty. They managed to score 5 tries to 4 but could only kick 3 goals.
MrK informs me that is now 3 games in a row where poor goalkicking has cost us the game.
My response was "if a coach can't see that a goalkicker and a decent defensive coach are necessary, your team is destined to finish in the bottom 4 as long as he draws a pay cheque from your club".

Cows looked like reserve graders last night v Sharkies. They've gone from contenders last season to spoon chances this season.

Bunnies smoked the Nags tonight 32-6.
With Origin coming up is this the beginning of the slide down the table (ala last season) for the Nags?

Tigers get their first win of the season over Penrith after a monumental upset in torrential rain in Bathurst.
And the Tits punished a Turbo-less Coastal Filth.
