Re: Paris Olympics 2024
So "Doing a Bradbury" went into Aus folklore to mean hanging in and coming through to win from nowhere.
I guess "Doing a Raygun" will go down as meaning becoming famous for being amusingly (nay, embarrassingly) shithouse.

Re: Paris Olympics 2024
She’s a teacher isn’t she? Does she have to go back to take classes?
Her husband, if it’s true that he facilitated her humiliation on the world stage, must be a shit. I heard from Zimmy on the issue, “taking the positives” a la Michael Vaughan … breaking will never be in the Olympics again and she has single-handedly made it so uncool that a generation of kids will avoid it like the proverbial … and that has to be a good thing.

Re: Paris Olympics 2024
I was at the shops yesterday and there was a couple sitting in the food court
Th bloke was chair dancing and girl was giggling happily at his moves
The kangaroo and the sprinkler were definitely involved
....
We know more about Rachell Gunn than we do about most of our medallists

Macquarie Uni Professor who did her thesis on Break-dancing (FFS). She met her husband 10 years ago. He's was a break dancer and now coach. He got her into the "sport" after she had much experience in "normal" dancing (jazz etc).
As Nath said, he was a judge in the poorly organised local qualification event. Fellow contestants described her as having a quirky style. One of her fellow professors bagged her in the media about being on a subsidised study tour at the Olympics.
I guess she's now our Eddie the Eagle or Eric the Eel.

The Para version starts on Aug 28. I assume that's why Fromberg has left this rikkied.

Aus currently 9th with 11-12-18.
Meanwhile, China have wheeled out every enhanced disabled person they could find and lead the medal count 62-46-27, way ahead of GB in 2nd with 33-25-16. USA in a lowly 3rd.
