equally a love for a sexily dressed woman doesn't make me a limp wristed bloody Hugh Grant!

I reckon the big twist might be that the 80s is the real world and the present day was in her head.
Next week is supposed to give us more clues. I like the look of the lift scene for obvious reasons...

No, it doesn't. I was being a guppy. There's a perfectly quality naked woman there though and you want to imagine it. I think that's bordering on lunacy, as deemed by 80 out of 100 psychologists who were surveyed. I mean, yeah, I like to imagine women naked, when I have to because there's no available material.

Look at the real thing while you can, there will be plenty of time for imagining after you have gone blind

To sound like Swiss Tony, more like.
Anyone else think that Bolly is a bit rubbish - compared with Sims, anyway - at making the big speeches to the department? Also with the psycho-babble profiling: doesn't quite cut the mustard.
Maybe just needs to settle into it.

Re: Ashes to Ashes
You know jonty, writing a post is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman....
Well, she was never going to be as good as Tyler because John Simm is a proper dude and she's just some fit posh bird. Think she's supposed to be annoying though, anyway. She's goodish foil for Hunt, though there's a bit too much sexual tension for my liking.

Re: Ashes to Ashes
Of course she supposed to be annoying. It's the juxtaposition of women then and now and looking at whether we have gone too far with the whole PC thing, which is what Life on Mars was all about too.

Re: Ashes to Ashes
Agreed. You're referring to the pissed-up scene when Gene does the gentlemanly thing and Bolly goes and shags the yuppy out of frustration, I take it.
I daresay it's too good to resist, given that they had to find some way of replacing the chemistry between Hunt and Tyler.
at the Swiss Tony quote!
I can see that she's supposed to be annoying, but I don't think she's supposed to lack credibility, Ange.

She thinks it's all in her head, she can do what she wants, it's her fantasy/subconcious making sense of her life and situation.

Never going to be as good as LOM, but still watchable.
I'm beginning to find Gene Hunt quite attractive

Missed this last night but caught up with it on the BBC iplayer.
Still not sure about that Evan guy, do we reckon he's up to no good?

It would be a bit too obvious if he was up to no good, it would be way too similar to the Sam and his father storyline from LOM.JKLever wrote:Missed this last night but caught up with it on the BBC iplayer.

I didn't really like Thursdays episode, worst so far I think.

Re: Ashes to Ashes
Bloody hell that went quickly, we're at the end of the series already!
A lot of loose ends to be tied up in this last episode tonight I should guess - although they've just officially announced a second series so I doubt we'll get to the bottom of everything.
