I must be tipping better than I thought, or you've lost form, Ross.

Tonight's result will delay Zim doing his Arnie/Gen McArthur act until at least 2013.
Melbourne supporters will be highlighting Round 20 - the day they play the Eagles. There is no certainty either of them will have won another game in the meantime.

Worsfold should be sacked ... the Eagles losing at home, to Carlton ... it can't get any worse.

Re: AFL 2008 thread
Far too many skill errors on both sides to be a good game.
The Weagles 3rd quarter come back made it exciting though. I really thought they had it won 10 minutes into the last quarter but it only required me to say as much for the tide to turn back to Carlton.
This counts as a reverse woof though as i had tipped Carlton and so ended up quite happy.

Re: AFL 2008 thread
After the 2005 Grand Final loss, I felt like hiding under a table.
Right now, I am hiding under a table. This from a team that was half a kick away from a home preliminary Final last year.
Our precentage is what is most disturbing. Sure there is no Cousins, Kerr or Judd at the moment, but that cannot account for the abominable start to this season.

Geez, the Hawks are playing an excellent brand of footy this year. Nath must be stoked.

Hawthorn don't play Geelong until round 17. Geelong are not exactly dominating at the moment and i think the Hawks would win if they played next week.
Geez, the Richmond - St Kilda game was a nail biter. One thing I love about footy tipping, you really get involved in close games even if your team is not involved.

Re: AFL 2008 thread
I think Geelong have been nursing a fair few players with injury niggles ... Chapman, Mackie, Ottens (obviously), Gary Ablett, Bartel, and Enright for starters have been playing well below the level that they finished last year. Selwood started very slowly as well, but has had two brilliant games over the last fortnight. The only things that make me optimistic at all about Geelong's ability to counter Buddy and Co are Scarlett's amazing work at the back (and Taylor improving by the week) and the general depth of our squad. Franklin is amazing, though ... I don't know how you match up on him.

Geelong have continued to win despite a dip in form so I don't think there should be much concern down at Kardinia.
Kelly has regained some form too (probably because I dropped him from my dream team - in favour of Ablett would you believe).
You are right about Franklin. If only they could arrange for all his shots on goal to be from outside 50 on the boundary he would be unstoppable.

Aye, Kelly is one of the unsung strengths in the team ... so accurate with his foot passing to inside 50 metres.
Franklin is a freak.
Interesting discussion on the Hawks' Zone defence pattern in the Australian yesterday ... did you see it? The game continues to evolve ...

Yes, it's reminiscent of that Bus Stop dance they used to do in discos in the 80s.
Gerard Healy gave Clarkson a long lecture on this tactic in an interview on 'On the Couch' on Foxtel last week. Clarkson looked rather bemused and didn't respond which i think disappointed Healy a bit.
Its good for the game IMO as it forces the opposition to kick to a contest more often. Also it seems an effective tactical alternative to the 'flood' which is rather unattractive.

Scott West out.
A few big names out this week. I wonder why that would be.

Week break next week for the Vics vs Dream Team game. Hopefully Buddy doesn't get injured.

MB,
Where is Zim at the moment? I haven't really read the colossal thread about 'missing him' so don't know his whereabouts.
For a team that is normally invincible at home, a team that has the best ruckmen in the game, the 2nd best fullback (albeit carrying a niggle) and the 2nd best midfielder, I cannot fathom how they have turned to being nothing more than football faeces.

Freo look like going down to the Demons, after leading by about 50 points at one stage.
EDIT: and they lost by 1 goal.
