What the hell was the 'rough conduct' that got Eamon Buchanan a four week minimum? Apparently Hodge was the victim.

Charges laid:
Richard Douglas, Adelaide, has been charged with a first offence for making negligent contact with umpire Stephen McBurney during the second quarter of the round-15 match between Adelaide and Collingwood, played at the MCG on Saturday July 12, 2008.

In summary, he can accept a $1950 sanction with an early plea.

A first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire is a $2600 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $1950 sanction.

Dean Solomon, Fremantle, has been charged with striking Cameron Ling, Geelong, during the first quarter of the round-15 match between Fremantle and Geelong, played at Skilled Stadium on Saturday July 12, 2008.

In summary, his total activation points saw the case referred directly to the Tribunal for its determination under the MRP rules and there is no offer of an early plea.

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), severe impact (four points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of nine activation points, and any offence with nine points results in the charge being automatically forwarded to the tribunal for its determination under MRP guidelines. He has an existing bad record of three matches suspended within the last three years. He also has 32.81 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months.

Ryan Crowley, Fremantle, has been charged with a level-two striking offence against Gary Ablett, Geelong, during the first quarter of the round-15 match between Fremantle and Geelong, played at Skilled Stadium on Saturday July 12, 2008.

In summary, his previous poor record means that his sanction cannot be reduced from a one-game penalty, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level-two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing poor record of one match suspended within the last three years, which increases the penalty by 10 per cent to 137.50 points. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 103.13 points and a one-match sanction.

Daniel Pratt, North Melbourne, has been charged with a level-two misconduct offence in that he made unreasonable/unnecessary contact to the face of Brett Ebert, Port Adelaide, during the third quarter of the Round 15 match between North Melbourne and Port Adelaide, played at AAMI Stadium on Saturday July 13, 2008.

In summary, his previous poor record and his carry-over points from within the last 12 months means that his two-game sanction cannot be reduced, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has an existing poor record of one match suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 10 per cent to 247.50 points. He also has 68.75 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 316.25 points and a three-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 237.19 points and a two-match sanction.

Amon Buchanan, Sydney, has been charged with a level-four engaging in rough conduct offence against Luke Hodge, Hawthorn, during the second quarter of the Round 15 match between Sydney and Hawthorn, played at the MCG on Sunday July 13, 2008.

In summary, his previous poor record and his carry-over points from within the last 12 months means that his four-game sanction cannot be reduced, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of seven activation points, resulting in a classification of a level-four offence, drawing 425 demerit points and a four-match sanction. He has an existing poor record of one match suspended with the last three years, increasing the penalty by 10 per cent to 467.50 points. He also has 82.81 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 550.31 points and a five-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a 412.73 points and a four-match suspension.

Colin Sylvia, Melbourne, has been charged with a level-two striking offence against Dale Morris, Western Bulldogs, during the second quarter of the round-15 match between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs, played at Telstra Dome on Sunday July 13, 2008.

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.

Daniel Kerr, West Coast, has been charged with a level-three striking offence against Matthew White, Richmond, during the third quarter of the round-15 match between West Coast and Richmond, played at Subiaco on Sunday July 13, 2008.

In summary, his existing poor record and his carry-over points from within the last 12 months means that his two-game sanction is increased to a four-game penalty, or a three-game sanction with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of seven matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 50 per cent to 337.50 points and a three-match sanction. He has 76.34 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 413.84 points and a four-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 310.38 points and a three-match sanction.

Other incidents assessed:
The match day report against Carlton's Jarrad Waite for striking St Kilda's Clinton Jones from Friday's game was assessed. It was the view of the panel that while high contact was made by Waite, the Carlton player had his eyes on the ball at all times. As such, it was regarded as a legitimate attempt to spoil. No further action was taken.

The match day reports laid against Richmond's Brett Deledio and West Coast's Darren Glass from Sunday's game for wrestling each other were assessed. It was the view of the panel there was no serious grappling for any length of time to constitute a wrestle. No further action was taken.

Contact between Carlton's Brendan Fevola and St Kilda's Max Hudghton from the second quarter of Friday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel that the impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

Contact between Geelong's Cam Mooney and Fremantle's Rhys Palmer from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. On the basis of the available video evidence, no high contact was made and no further action was taken.

Contact between Geelong's David Wojcinski and Fremantle's Chris Tarrant from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Although some high contact was made to Tarrant, it was the view of the panel that Wojcinski was bent over trying to gain possession of the ball. As such, the contact was deemed to be accidental. No further action was taken.

Contact between Fremantle's Mark Johnson and Geelong's Steve Johnson from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel that the impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

Contact between Geelong's Jimmy Bartel and Fremantle's Rhys Palmer from the second quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel that no high contact was made in the bumping action. No further action was taken.

Contact between Fremantle's Robert Warnock and Geelong's David Wojcinski from the fourth quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel that no high contact was made during the bump. Wojcinski accidentally hit his head on the knee of an opposition player as he went to ground. No further action was taken.Contact between Sydney's Luke Ablett and Hawthorn's Luke Hodge from the first quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel that no high contact was made, with contact being made to the shoulder region. No further action was taken.

Not sure what an LMPFSP is but any paper that thinks Andrew Bolt is a political analyst is obviously going to struggle with basic concepts on any subject.
