Chris Schofield
Anyone else having the same feeling of dread that he's going to be bowling himself into further recognition internationally, on the back of a few T20 performances and a load of catches on the boundary rope?

Re: Chris Schofield
Yes - thought that exact thing: second spinner in Sri Lanka
In fairness to the bloke, he has bowled some handy spells in first class cricket this year.
Just not many.

Re: Chris Schofield
But perhaps they can get a hold of Schoey and turn him into a semi-handy limited overs cricketer - like Hogg. Bit of bowling, bit of batting.
I'm expecting too much, aren't I?

Re: Chris Schofield
Yup.
I'd actually forgotten how slappable Schofields face is.
And i'm not even a violent geezer!

Re: Chris Schofield
Still, if he bowls out Australia tomorrow, it'll make it even funnier.
If Ricky Ponting thought it was embarrassing giving his wicket up to Ashley Giles...

Re: Chris Schofield
Yeah, I reckon Swanny will be in contention. There's no doubt(at least in my mind) that he'll at least play an ODI or two and, if successful, bowl himself into contention for the 2nd spinner spot in the Test squad. Some people reckon we'll take three...
Re: Chris Schofield
If Chris Schofield is chosen to tour Sri Lanka for the Tests I will seriously track down David Graveney and batter him to death with a medium sized haddock.
There is just no comparison between him and Adil Rashid. Adil is far far better bowler, a much more athletic fielder and a lot better batsman.
FFS - then there's Swann, Batty, Keedy, Brown, Doshi, goddamn it even Croft or Tuffers could do a better job even if we have to wheel them up to the crease.

Re: Chris Schofield
You won't be saying that tomorrow night, after the Schoeynator mauls Australia to within an inch of their banana-coloured lives.
Re: Chris Schofield
Could anything possibly be more humiliating than standing there in a cricket field in front of 40,000 cricket fans, watched on TV all across the world dressed in a custard coloured vest fitted fetchingly with gay grey body armour underneath whilst looking back at your stumps smeared in all directions while Chris Schofield wheels around in delight having clean bowled you with a ball that almost bounced twice?
Give me Chinese water torture every day. I'm sure Ricky and the boys will be having a restless night tonight.

Gary.
Your so right, and your on fire at the moment. Some top notch sarcastic, comincal posts.
Fark me he's terrible, even if the zimbots couldn't hit him off the square. I can't help thinking the aussies will be so disgusted that he's being allowed to bowl at him, that they'll try and maul him everywhere and he'll get a 4 for.
Then I might have to stop watching T20.
As for the haddock and Dave Grave's face, a perfect match when joined together at force...

Re: Chris Schofield
I think Schofield's perfectly suited to Twenty20, after seeing him today. He bowls these full tosses and short shite every now and again, but when most batsman are caught in the deep anyway, those two deliveries are as effective as a googly or flipper can be in real cricket.

I think I was born a generation to early, a bit like Martin Peters I was 15 years ahead of my time...
I've been slipping in these variation balls - full tosses and long hops all my career and never get any reward. Just ungrateful league batsmen who don't realise how good they are and slog them for 4.
Next time I drag one down and get tonked over midwicket i'm gonna eyeball the batsman and say "Aye, it was wasted on thee, son...."

He's 28.
That's 391 in crap years.
He looks like he's got a 12 year olds face which has been stretched horribly in several different directions.
