Re: Indian and Pakistani forummers . . .
There should be far more inter-racial sex. In my experience, mixed race girls are foine as hell.

Kind of like drugs, but without the morbid comedown.
Unless you've been persuaded to do something you really didn't want to do.

Re: Indian and Pakistani forummers . . .
When I was younger my best friend was a Turkish Cypriot. She was born and bred here and is as "English" as me, but her family really wanted her to marry "a nice Turkish boy."
She was forever being paraded about in front of these boys; they would be invited for tea to meet her etc, and she really didn't like that, but she was never under any pressure to accept any of them. Little did her family know that she'd been going out with a not so nice English boy for a couple of years.......I was actually quite jealous in a sense because it was like belonging to a select dating agency. They were of good stock, had nice families etc! Eventually, she confessed to her family that she'd been seeing someone. They were upset but supported her decision when she moved in with him.
Unfortunately, it didn't last long and he broke her heart and left her. I remember her saying that her family had probably been right all along!
Obviously, their culture and ideas of arranged marriages is much more relaxed and it does work for a lot of them.

Woman chops off lover's penis - policeFrom correspondents in Lahore
April 21, 2008 08:42pm
A PAKISTANI woman chopped off her lover's penis after he wedded his cousin in a marriage arranged by his parents.
The man, 24-year-old Muhammad Shehzad, began a relationship with a 30-year-old married woman named Jamila after they met at a zoo in the eastern city of Lahore two years ago, police officer Asghar Bhatti said.
"Shehzad had promised he would marry Jamila if she got a divorce from her husband, but he married his cousin two weeks ago,'' officer Bhatti said, adding that this "infuriated her and she decided to take revenge''.
"She invited him to her house last Wednesday and after serving some intoxicant cut off his sexual organ.''
Police arrested the woman and she remains in custody, officer Bhatti said.
Doctor Sanaullah, who treated Shehzad at Lahore General Hospital, said they have been unable to reattach the penis.
"He has become impotent for the rest of his life and will be unable to perform his conjugal duties," the doctor said.
"He can never become a father."

Obviously, their culture and ideas of arranged marriages is much more relaxed and it does work for a lot of them.
The best part of Indian arranged marriages is that a majority of them don't end in petty divorces and more often it ends with death doing them apart in old age. There is no issue of people not sustaining interest in ecah other and finding newer beaus after the initial excitement wears off and boredom creeps in. There is tremendous pressure in society to live happoily in one marriage and then emotional priority to ensure well being of kids takes over and ensures the glue holds even if the spark dies. In the end couples end up learning every page of tolerance and compromise and you don't end up with messy scenarios of guy marrying thrice, girl marrying 4 times, someone moving into a messy live-in, lots of kids from different partners and stuff like that, the kind of messes best left in soap operas because merely people stop tolerating each other. Divorces here end up in cultural shame.
At least in developed urban pockets thats changing. Globalization is bringing in a greater world view. Things still remain much simpler. Arranged marriages still work, though love marriages aren't too much taboo now. I think parents now don't mind Indian origin prospects regardless of caste as much as foreign origins.
The rate of divorces has increased in urban areas more where people learn to make their own choices and their own mistakes. But despite that more divorces happen in cases of dometic violence in the end. Buts just about it. I think urban parents now have stopped pushing and have learnt to be a bit more broader than they were a decade back. The rigidness still lies stringently in rural places. A daughter and the husband of her choice in case of a defiant marriage can actually end up getting killed by her family and relatives to protect the family 'honour'.

Re: Indian and Pakistani forummers . . .
So SG, care to share your pain with us friends? Why the long sulk and posts full of gloom and doom for 3 months leading to your arranged marriage, when on C4? Or is it that like your cousins, you too caved in?
If thats indeed the case, hope your family's treating you well and you are happy with your 'acceptance' of your marriage and hope you aren't sulking anymore and are really happy...
