Or....how about you go f*ck yourself?

I've given my reasons for being impressed with Toni's performance and I think I'll watch what I want, thanks.

Forget the Euro Champs, there's proper football to watch, namely Brazil V Argentina right now on Sky 401.

Yeah a bit like Henry huh? Mate as you have pointed out in the past their respective goal tally record for their country is pretty good. BUT the fact of the matter is when the pressure is on and their team needs to win they are found wanting.

Let's be clear, Germany is my favourite international football team, and yet I will admit they are not deseving of tournament favouritism. Apart from Argentina in the last world cup, when was the last time they beat a top ten rated team? Where was Ballack creating or scoring the goals when they desperately needed them at Euro '04 and WC '06 (in the semi against Italy, they could done with a big game there from the supposed world's best big game player) . To add more insult to what is a commercial game now, I think he became the most expensive player in the world after those experts at FIFA thought that he had a good world cup and made a place in the team of the tournament. Pathetic, he did well against minnows (yes minnows comparable Zimb and Bang) and that was it.

Apart from his great free kick against Austria, where has Ballack been this tournament? If he had rose to the challenge against Croatia, his team would never have been in the predicament it was last night in having to at least draw against their neighbours. And now Germany has to play Portugal in the next round instead of Turkey. if he had produced the goods when they were needed, Germany would have topped the group and basically play a shite team in the quarters.

Two things I will grant Ballack, is in the '02 WC he was pretty good and he is a master at taking penalties in so called 'big games"

Don't even get me started on Henry - the domestic club football God wilted again when it mattered most for his country. Let me guess you will point to his consolation goal against the powerful Dutch team? Fark, get the violins out, it makes me sick. I want to vomit every time I see him fall to the ground claiming a free kick. Fact is, Henry is crapulent with a blue shirt on. He may be a world beater whe he has a red jersey on, but gawd he is shit in internationals.

You can add Lampard to your list of over-rated International hacks too.

When the going gets tough, and when they are up against world class teams and the pressure is on at the business end of a tournament, these players are found wanting.

so ballack had a good WC02, was in the FIFA team of the tournament in WC06, bailed his team out in a high pressure must win match in EURO2008, consistently produced the goods for chelsea all of last season when required (and fit, obviously). you're right, hes not a big game player.

and henry - he is only his countries leading all-time scorer. top scorer for his team in WC98. won EURO2000. after ribery, he has been frances best player in this tournament. its not his fault the midfield is non existent. might be past his best, but there is no denying the man is a GREAT player for club and country.

I'm laying my cards on the table now. I think this is Portugal's tournament. I think they're good enough to beat the Dutch and the Spanish (if they have to play them) and I think Portugal will win it.

I'm even off to put money on it.

Ah, the Motherland. So sweet and sickly is your name in my mouth. Sometimes, I wonder how it is that such a crap-seeming side can destroy all in its path - see the 2002 World Cup, bar the magnificent Brazilians. Here's hoping the Germans go all the way; they were my bet, and thus, shall win me money. But also for personal reasons - the motherland is forever in my heart.

yessssssssss!!!!!!!!!!! what a freakin match! the pig-mounter was absolutely fantastic. one of the great german wins from recent memory. would have been perfect if the baby cried

get germany in the knock-out stages and big matches and we turn it on. the easier of the semis and a final looks a distinct possibility

10-2 in euro knock-outs

I wouldn't get that excited. All three German goals were the result of terrible defending from crosses. Holland won't gift wrap opportunities like those.

Ronaldo did absolutely nothing in the second half when Portugal needed him the most. Also, the quality of crosses from Simao and Nani (bar one) was awful.

Big-game player Ballack had a good game though, Ponts. Wink
