Notts v Porkshire on Sky tomorrow . . . weather dependent of course.

Looks like a straight knock out tie now.

I'll be the one with the beer in my hand.

In what sort of context? Big fish in a small pond? Yeah, maybe - you've got to love somewhere to stay there for half your life away from friends and family, though, haven't you? There were a half-dozen clubs after him, he could've got minted.

Whilst Sales's commitment to Northants is admirable, does it also perhaps hint at a lack of ambition?

shrug Maybe. To me, people sort of parallel cricket with football - i.e. to be a better player you need to be at a bigger club.

I'm not sure I'd agree - there's so much more to cricket in terms of individuality. If your team is doing so dreadfully in the football, it's harder IMO for a brilliant individual performance to catch the eye. Not so in cricket. Swann hasn't improved since moving to a bigger club, for instance. Not in any way that has been coached.

TBH, he could've probably doubled his contract and probably been able to relax more at a club packed with a better batting line-up. I'm not sure that's lacking ambition, though I'm sure some others will construe it differently.

BTW, a verbal tirade usually comes when the inference that he's fat means he's hindering himself - when it's clear as crystal that it's not the case when you see him.

I know you Yorkies are a bit 'special' but how the hell can you get a home draw? Essex have a point more than you whatever Lancs do...

Absolutely, Harris was the only person in the ground that didn't think it was out. We haven't got a cat so I had to make do with kicking a pair of trainers, and as far as I know the Mrs is still locked in the bedroom and won't come out. So much for technology. Rolling Eyes

Simple Mr Lever (no pun intended), if Durham had beaten Lancs we would have been level on points with the red rose side and having beaten them home and away we would have finished second.

Logistically I wanted Durham or Warwickshire but playing wise I would definitely have preferred Warks.

No, it's very quiet, all I can hear are her tears falling on the pillow. Besides, the buzzing's restricted to saturday nights only.
