Nottinghamshire's crap batting flattered to deceive throughout the morning session but has now reverted to type with a mini-collapse. Mascarenhas must be bowling grenades or something, despite going wicketless: 17 - 10 - 14 - 0.

Of course. But you are increasing the risk playing him in a test without proving his fitness first. Personally i'd leave him out of the 1st test.

Bumble went on to say - he needs the time in the middle to find his batting again. Agree with him - it's totally shot to pieces through lack of time in the middle.

No point in hgaving your best bowler if:

1. He's not firing on all cylinders
2. He hasn't proved he won't break down on the first morning.

Looking at the Lancashire tail, I think Flintoff was a little lucky in current form to even bat above 10. He certainly shouldn't be batting above Luke Sutton. An excellent innings by Law - he should have played more international cricket. Looks like he'll retire with a Test Average of infinity though... Smile

Not at all a waste. He won't be fit properly for me until after the second test, which basically means if he plays at all its in the ODer's.

Might as well leave him in County cricket to try and get his batting right perhaps, and then look at selecting him.

Yeah, he's very close to being God. Averaging 50 before this game. Our batsman make me sick. The tail has had to bail us out nearly every single game.

Destroyed a red-hot Simon Jones when we played Worcs too.
