Very curious choice, but surely they would have discussed this with the player before announcing him in even a 30 man squad given the circumstances?

Been excellent for Notts this season, excellent action and more than sharp, though as mentioned above, he hasn't always made the side - only playing 5 of the 7 FC matches this season for example.

Red's comment is somewhat harsh however - not sure how he can always have struck anyone as rather ordinary after less than 18 months at First Class level!

Maybe they (the England selectors) are looking for another version of Stuart Clark (right down to being Australian and everything...) He came on the scene quite late in life, low 80's pace, line and length, etc.

Just think how good he'll be once Kevin Shine's had his wicked way with him.

Pattinson's been the better bowler this season to be honest.

Shreck has a tendency towards getting slapped in the the pyjama stuff anyway.
