BCCI at it again . . .
BCCI stops players joining counties with ICL players
The BCCI has cranked up the pressure on English counties that have employed players linked with the unauthorised Indian Cricket League (ICL) by "advising" its own players to not sign up with such teams.
Niranjan Shah, BCCI secretary, told Cricinfo that its contracted players - including VVS Laxman, Piyush Chawla and Ajit Agarkar - who have signed or are in the process of signing with English counties this season are being "advised" to pull out if the county has ICL players on its rolls.
"We don't want our players in teams that have other players playing in unauthorised tournaments," Shah said.

I'd say unbelievable, but . . .
Was looking forward to watching Laxman bat at Trent Bridge from next month as well.![shrug](/users/2914/30/66/10/smiles/797708.gif)

Jebus, I thought I started a thread just to discuss BCCI 2 days back. Can we have it all in one place so we could look at all issues at one place and spit bile out as and where required?

Ban the Ashes. Convert it into 20 20:20 games.
Else, BCCI should also ban all players who play in the Ashes.

Re: BCCI at it again . . .
In all seriousness I have no problem with the BCCI doing the above with the Indian players that fall under their remit.
They're trying to stop a rebel comp from finding it's feet in their country.
Now if they try and prevent say Shane Watson from playing IPL, just because he may have played in the same team in England as someone who played in the ICL - that's when i'd nuke India....

Well if we're being serious, I have a big problem with them telling Indian players which teams to play in, outside of India.
In fact I wish I could 'love' BCCI's sisters and mothers in a gigantic and wholesome orgy that ended with my skinning Modi with a pen knife.
But that's just me.
Meanwhile:
"The 2009 Ashes is bought to you by Lalit Modi and the BCCI".
That would be so nice because the teams will play according to India Time.

forgotten in this thread is the pressure India is applying to its greatest allrounder since Kapil Dev - A git Aquacker. It will be interesting to see the impact on the great man's form with bat and ball.

Sreesanth would be a great choice if counties are looking for an Indian seamer.

This is the way it's going to be for counties now looking for overseas players - why commit yourself to the hard slog of even half a county season when you play some 20/20 stuff in half the time for 10 times the money. The following have, to my knowledge have been mentioned/been approached as a possible replacement for Magoffin:
Bracken
Tait
Nehra
Pathan
Mills
Agarkar
We've ended up with a Pakistani by the name of Imran Arif who was having a trial with us anyway!
