Will wait until there's a bit more juice in the tracks and bowlers who can exploit said juice.

No Haynes Taylor Hayden? I though Haynes and Greenidge would have scored 1500 runs.

Yes, Kirsten was a very solid player but Smith and Gibbs must have played on some featherbeds.

Stupid stat gives false impression.
Gordon Greenidge.............................................................
with Desmond Haynes he formed what was by a distance the most enduring and prolific opening partnership of them all, with 16 century stands, four of them in excess of 200. And they were just the hors d'oeuvres
Cricket info.

Haven't Smith and Gibbs got 3 over 300?

Probably minnows, or weak attacks. If you get a huge total against a poor attack it adds to your average.
To be perfectly honest Taipan, I think Smith (in his recent form) and the solid, dependable McKenzie would inspire more regular heartbeats than Smith and Gibbs, regardless of their 300+ partnerships. Haven't they had a few 100+ partnerships to add to their 400+ mauling of the Bangs? I recall them getting a 200 start at Lord's this year.

There have been 12 300+ partnerships and Smith has featured in 4 of them.

Very surprised there's no Tresco and Strauss partnership on there.

Tresco and Vaughan were the better opening partnership.
