Blobby Key not exactly doing his prospects much good - scores of 4 & 38 in this game...
Aye. He's still behind Bops and MPV in the pecking order whatever he does mind you.
Where are you getting your info from BTW?

NZ 'A' 152-3 chasing 457 to win.
Plunkett with a couple of wickets.
'Sh!t for brains' Saj 0-54 off 13 to go with 2-77 off 16

Roughing them up at one end so his bowling partner can cash in at the other.
Classic fast bowling.
Good on you, Saj.
England a good shot at winning this against a "strong" NZ A.

Re: New Zealand A vs England Lions, 2nd "Thing"
Saj in the W column now.
I guess the thing with text-only cricket watching is you're never sure how someone is really bowling.
Mahmood seems to be getting well tonked 18 overs, 1-70, but he's bowled much more than anyone else - which you wouldn't expect if he was having a stinker - and at a better economy than the uber-economical Mark Davies.
So I'm deducing that he's having a Test-class stormer but without luck.

NZ cheated a draw. Nine wickets down. Before they set out to bat to save the game, one of their bowlers was called up by the senior NZ side and they were allowed to replace him.
They replaced him with a specialist batsman who averages over 40 in FC cricket.
He saved them with an unbeaten hundred.
What a sheep-bothering disgrace.

Huzzah, Keysie sees the light:
Bobby also bigged-up Luke Wright, but I'm not going to mention that lest it undermine the impression that he knows what he's talking about.

“Sajid Mahmood has also been great. He has a role to play (for England). He’s been bowling quick, rattling a few cages and he’s had some very good batsmen jumping around.
“The next step for him is with England and to become their ‘go-to man’.”

Re: New Zealand A vs England Lions, 2nd "Thing"
That's bizarre, apparently he bowled 13 no-balls and 2 wides in 16 first innings overs, but none at all in 28 overs in the second... did the scorers just give up bothering to record them?
Anyway, despite the dodgy supersub, there's no excuse for having 8 balls at Chris Martin and not getting him out. I see there's another Martin in the NZ A side, is that his brother? Wouldn't surprise me, as he got a pair!

Probably a bit rusty first out - he missed the opening "Test" with a back twinge - settled into his sweet, sweet groove by the time the second innings came around.
Or he worked out how to use the tape-measure the right way around and marked his run up out properly.
Re: New Zealand A vs England Lions, 2nd "Thing"
He was bowling very well in county cricket last year. I'm not adverse to his selection but he's got to be told to stop thinking and to wang it down as fast as possible and try for a few induckers like he did on debut...
Maybe the fact he was so crap as a number 8 is clouding my judgement.
Get nasty, none of this 3 slower balls drifting down legside bollocks...

Re: New Zealand A vs England Lions, 2nd "Thing"
Heh - I love it when our stocks are so low that people are prepared to agree on giving anything a go, just for the sake of trying something else.
I remember during the horrible 2003 home series against SA - the series that honestly saw an England attack featuring James Kirtley, Martin Bicknell and Kabir Ali - floating the idea that maybe we should give Steve Kirby a whirl...
Bad times.
