No, Umpires have been paid not to give Tendy out again so the Indians win and the series stays alive.

Poor Sachin. A couple of umpiring decisions go in his favour for once and people accuse the umpires of favouring him. For whatever reason, him and Lara seem to have gotten more dodgy decisions than most over the last 10 years or so.

No he gets plenty that go his way as well, they just don't have the same over the top scrutiny as when he gets one against him.
he got about 3 or 4 life's in one game but if he was wrongly given out 3 or 4 times in a series we would still be hearing about it 5 years later.

When was the last time an international team had 4 specialist left arm bowlers in their side? India had Zaheer, RP Singh, Pathan, and Kartik in the last match. Add Johnson and Bracken from Australia and that's 6 specialist left arm bowlers in the 1 match. Has to be some sort of record.

Until the game 2 days ago when he was given 3 lives, I'm not convinced he was treated with any undue leniency (but I'm not the closest SRT watcher.)please don't yell wrote:No he gets plenty that go his way as well, they just don't have the same over the top scrutiny as when he gets one against him.

I do have to agree that poor decisions against him seem to become national events. One poor decision he received on the recent England tour when he was in the 90s is to become the subject of a TV show we were informed.

Perhaps the Umpires are so worried about being accused of bias towards Tendulkar, Lara and co that they actually subconsciously become biased against them?

NSW v WA game starting today could have a big bearing on the replacement.
IMO it's a straight shoot-out between Rogers and Jaques for the First Test. M Hussey is doing so well in the middle order I'd hesitate to move him, Hodge and Clarke aren't good against the new (moving) ball, and Watson isn't fit, nor remotely ready for this position until he's done some opening at FC level.
I'd still choose Rogers on the basis of his last few Australian FC seasons (which have been better than Jaques') and his far superior fielding; but their respective starts this year will be critical.

Rogers would have been ahead until the the Pak A tour. Now it's even money, I'd say. Being a Ginge has got to count against Rogers, but.

He seemed out of form in the Franger game and that on top of a poor English season. don't like the way he spars outside off stump.
IMO a shield player only.
Jaques has flaws but has tons of ability and potential. Pity he hasn't found his head at least up until recently but now he is in form he must keep producing.
Todays game will be important psychologically for both Rogers and Jaques.
Score at the moment
Jaques 1
Rogers 0

Strange that Hodge has shorter odds than Rogers to open the batting, considering he's never opened in first class cricket before (As far as I can remember).
I think Jaques will get the nod. He's a very hot and cold player, but they'll back him for the Sri Lanka tests. I keep forgetting that he's already played a couple of Tests against South Africa and Bangladesh respectively.

Stupid Fox Sports. This is what happens when you schedule one live event straight after another. The first one is more than likely to run over time. Wonder if they'll ditch the Nascar is the next few mins.....

Geez it's fun watching these parked nascars rather than the cricket. Fox sports is on to a ratings winner here.....

Although:
2.6 Khan to Ponting, SIX, the first of the match! short of a length on off and middle, Ponting swivels and pulls over square leg, the timing sent that a few rows back

It's all happening in the nascar. Another crash means the safety car is out with 6 laps to go. I can hardly contain my excitement.
