Ah - I see that we have that Chappell-Hadlee rubbish in December.

That Chappell Hadlee series will likely be Gilchrist's ODI finale.

Although having seen Haddin attempt to bat against high quality spin today, I think the Aussie selectors will be pleading with Gilchrist to play on.

Well played Australia.
Although I did not watch the match, the scores look like we came within striking distance. No disgrace at all in losing like this.

I guess who could say that inexplicable decision by Dhoni to bowl Yuvraj when Australia was under the pump was a crucial moment.

He dropped Symonds when he was on 2 . . . . Symonds made 107* off 88 balls

Aye, he seemed out of form on the tour over here in England. TBH I thought that was at least one reason he resigned the captaincy.doremi wrote:Dravid shouldn't/won't be dropped. He has been not that flash since before he gave up captaincy. Maybe bring him for the last 2 ODIs vs the Pakistanis.

Congrats to Aussies on their series win. They've been world's best in both forms of the game for close to a decade now.

Losing to such a champion team in a close encounter like yesterday was should not be taken as big a disgrace, considering what bowling and fielding abilities does this team has.
Indian bowlers as always brought disgrace for their team, save Kartik and Tendulkar, latter again had a very good match. And then they say drop him.
Thank god, the ones those matter aren't as senseless as some on this forum as well as in the Indian media are.
PS: Indian trundlers conceded 102 runs in final 10 overs, while Australian bowlers conceded 80 in comparison. Those 10 overs were indeed the difference between the 2 teams.

Hehehe, that was gold. Stoopid Lax Siva made it out to be a tough catch but all he had to do was run in a bit and lean forward, got two hands to it and spilled it. Top knock from Roy. And Hopes looked the goods too. And FFS, can the selectors now please drop Podge. Farkin waste of a batting spot. And Haddit was in excellent form, then dropped to keep Podge in and then asked back and struggles due to 2 week break. Fark me, Punter's clique is worse than SRW's.tac wrote:Anniyan wrote:Did Shreeshanth do anything today?

Pffft. Hodge has been shunted up and down the batting order like a yo-yo.

Boo-farkin-hoo. He's a neville no-talent. Having said that, if he is picked and miraculously makes runs with those cement boots and gaping bat-pad gap, I'll say "I knew he was the heir-apparent to NLWL"!!!!!!!

Sree's dropped catch of Symonds was as easy as it gets, especially considering that he managed to lay 2 hands to it.
So he was not only hopeless with the ball but also in the field.

Top innings from Symonds though. This was his 4th consecutive score of 75+, always a difficuly score to get especially for someone who bats lower down the order. He wasn't too hot against us in ODIs before this series, but in this series he is nothing short of phenomenal.
Easily the MoS for this series.

Sree's bowling effort was quite rollercoasterish. Got smashed by Gilly and Punter, bowled a very good mid-innings spell, than got smashed at the end. And yup, the catch he dropped wasn't that hard.SG wrote:Sree's dropped catch of Symonds was as easy as it gets, especially considering that he managed to lay 2 hands to it.
