Hi Leosophee! I doubt it. True, you never know what to expect with Pakistan, but they shoudl be able to do an England ..... (((*cough* unless of course the bookies forbid it *cough*)))

Broad's 3-17 best in a T20 international at The Oval beating Ian Butler's 3-19 against the Scots yesterday.

An all-rounder who's forgotten how to bat... a bit like another one we know. Even the present day Freddie wouldn't scratch around like Afridi today though.Dello wrote:Afridi? The guy's a joke batsman.

At least Fred still keeps his eyes open when he swings at the ball...

Oh, don't worry. The last time Pak lost to England in the early rounds of a WC they went on to win the cup!
Pak won the WC in SA? Thought Aus bt India in the final

Thought 185 may be too much - I reckon you would take that on the board 90% of the time.
Agree about Rashid, though still think his call up having played no T20 much was bizarre.
Good comeback from Broad after the other night, he's got bottle.

I'm starting to wonder if Luke Wright might actually be a good player in the making.
Really liked his bowling today.

Recorded mentally for Dello to be utterly trashed at a later date.

I think it will be wise to realize that the current Pakistan team isn't the world's most talented side any more..
We just don't have the players needed to win the big tournaments and a lot of talent is wasted due to stupidity of the players themselves.

Good solid effort by England.
All of them (for a change) played out of their skins.
Broad needs a special mention ... as Leve says ... good comeback after his Cloggie shockers ... and clever bowling tonight ... was on a hat-trick but no one picked that up on commentary.

Might.
Hey, I'm taking a punt. It's the spirit of T20 - got to take a risk or two...
Re: ICC World Twenty20, 2009 - Group B
English spinners were brilliant today especially if you consider the fact they had to deal with a wet ball.

I think the key to this game is not playing the game with shackles on your feet when you bat and not fielding like tarts when you bowl.
Most sides can beat others on the day.
Holland v Pak will be interesting.

Pakistan will basically have to win it by a greater margin than England beat them by today. If the Dutch perform like they did the other night that won't be easy, and they will certainly deserve their place if they do play anything like that again.JKLever wrote:Holland v Pak will be interesting.
Good all-round performance by England today, I wasn't sure if the score was quite enough but Pakistan never got going in reply. Credit to the players for showing some bouncebackability!

Well, they had to go down to give them the possibility of bouncebackability.
It's all part of a plan.

was on a hat-trick but no one picked that up on commentary.
Probably because hat-tricks were cheaped by Yuvi and Rohit Sharma in the IPL.

I'm enjoying this tournament more than I enjoyed the IPL. Mark Nicholas not commentating and ejaculating over everything that happens on the field probably has something to do with it.
