Nah, it's played out now. Everyone's had a cry, the violins have made an appearance - we've all moved on.
We're yet to formally hear from Davey Boy - I'm sure that'll prompt a few comments.
I don't think he had a reputation to salvage in the first place, so it really makes no difference what he says.

Agree that his words are of little consequence - but you know he'll utter something crass that will get us typing.

The title of this thread on this day is mildly amusing.

'Nice view from up here' has been the general gist from many visitors.

Of course England are more watchable in the shorter formats, but JAMODIs will always be JAMODIs...
To the first highlighted bit - I never buy any more just because of the ridiculous price. Test cricket in Egland is crazily expensive.
The second part - you're spot on. I posted a comment ages ago on that subject saying that given the propensity for players of this era to be seemingly lacking in the discipline to stick it out (or perhaps encouraged by management to play an attacking 'brand' - yuk - of cricket) that surely when you unearth the odd one who's happy to guts it out you put them in and keep them in. Haseeb Hameed for example. If you can find two grinders in your batting line up you'll frustrate the oppo's bowlers, who like their batting brethren are more and more used to the simpler version of 50 over and 20/20 fodder and lose the will to fight to get the wickets.
Tickets for today under full cover are R150 each. Slightly under 10 quid.

Best get onto CA and ask them to belay that order to clean up the team's act. Better still re-instate Davey Boy and bump him up to Captain with a licence to sledge, slap and scrape whatever he likes. Watch the post numbers go up and up like the US debt clock.

That's nice for you guys - 10 quid might get you a burger at Lord's.

How much for a gin in the members at Lords? Merls?

Re: Jesus, this place is dead...
I just checked the records (my own) and last month's 3,089 posts was the first time since August 2015 that we have cracked 3,000 posts. That 2015 month's effort was on the back of a disastrous Ashes month in England.
Perhaps Aussie disaster is the secret to this place.

A fiver, H.
No subsidising at Lord's mate.
In fact, beer across in the tented village down at the Nursery End can sometimes be as much as a quid a pint cheaper.
Food is ridiculously dear ... a pork bap will set you back another fiver, whilst lunch in the Pavillion a tenner!
The salt and pepper is free!.
Ticket prices are high and climbing - and across the board - for Members and the Great Unwashed.
A Member's Rover Ticket (members friend/family) costs a cool £75 for the India test - more in 2019 against your lot I'm guessing.
Yet .... still they flock here in their thousands !

Warts Thickers up to?
Shirley filth Chinhead should do the right thing and make a comeback.
.... And what is the Belfard up to?
Is the Belfard the successor as Pomgolian cricket coach? He is still the future of Pomgolian cricket. Make it so.
The post count will go stratospheric. Cricket will glow with new hope.
PS. Furri can I have the Pomgolian franchise for Effigies Are Us?
