England's demons for this series are just as likely to come from within as they are without.

Nobody knows how he'll go down this summer. Will he take a bag full and become Austraya's next great spinner, or will he be handled with ease by KP and his barmy army?
I suspect he'll be quite nervous going into the first Test, a lot of pressure on a young spearhead spin bowler on his first Ashes Campaign. However, it usually comes down to the old cliché of really coming to the fore in a pressure situation and performing a glorious spell to captivate the minds of everyone watching.
point of clarification - given mudge's likely interest... Horrie the Younger might play for NSW but this does not mean he plays for or with Sydneysiders or Trev or that he enjoys a special friendship with the Shermanator.....not that there would be anything wrong with the above...
'
Horrie the Younger - who let me be quite clear - is no relation, comes from Qld

They did an excellent job in the T20 world cup but some of the pitches for test matches have been very flat
Don't agree at all, we generally have great test wickets with a little bit for everyone.

The win against the Windies last month was the first result at Lord's since the Australian victory there in the opening match of the 2005 Ashes, ending a sequence of six successive draws!

How many of those could and in some cases 'should' we have won though...
India & SL should have been England wins for starters

True, though you could make the same case for the South Africa Test last year.
Trouble is it got flatter and flatter as the Test wore on . . . which kind of brings us back to the initial point.

I'd take a flattie at Lords right now tbh. We'll do well to get away from the neutral test and then Lords all square!!

Watson's fragility may have at least saved them from embarrassing themselves by choosing him in the T1 squad.

I think Aus will bat Haddin at six, and McDonald at seven, with three specialist quicks and Hauritz.

Both Freddie and Symonds, star all-rounders from both teams respectively are dangerous.
Playing an unfit Freddie is more dangerous for the Pommies.
Including Symonds in the team for any reason these days is dangerous for the Ozzies too.
And therein lies the tale of both the team's supposed all-rounders.....
