Demelza has just posted, the language would not offend her. Likewise Ange. Filo was chased by tac eons ago, this has nothing to do with it. I chat to Jill most days and know her reasons for not posting more. Actually she was very scaled down in C4 days. Chandan was commenting on the lack of cricket threads which has nothing to do with this debate. Can't answer for Rachel but as Tom still posts I don't see a real problem.

The problem is that it is not easily accessible to those who do not know of it. Someone mentioned that last week.

Seems Ponting tried FB out last year, so myth has it, under the guise of Gabba Dan, but his three founces off the board allegedly stemmed from this place not encouraging more cheats in cricket nor FB's reluctance to advance the theory that the spirit of cricket was just a falacy, invoked only when circumstances dictated that the high moral ground was desperately coveted so as to paper over his crack.

People flouncing off is no issue. It's a certain kind of person who says they're off and wants everyone to know about it. I'd be more concerned about people who read, join, make a very occasional comment and then just don't bother any more. That's where people are lost.

I do think that all the "qunt" stuff probably does put a fair few people off from participating. It's not exactly geared to making a new member think "Ooh, this place looks fun" is it?

It's a fair call, but as Taips says - this place is not easily found. You can't just type in 'cricket forum' and find us.

I joined the C4 forum because they had the cricket and every match thread on BBC consisted of ' OMGZ........................................4'

It's all the new industry of Search Engine Optimisation. It's quite important in one of the areas I work in, but is only peripheral to what I do. I can therefore nod sagely about the importance of SEO without having the first idea of how it actually works.
