Australia could face a weakened West Indies team this summer after leading players were ordered to play in a one-day tournament in Guyana next month or be excluded from national selection.

The West Indies will travel to Australia to play three Test matches in November and December followed by five one-day internationals and two Twenty20 fixtures in February.

However, draw cards such as Chris Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul could be omitted unless they suit up for a limited-overs tournament in Guyana beginning on October 27, said Chetram Singh, president of the Guyana Cricket Board.

"The players must play in Guyana or they will not be picked for any tours," Singh said.
Still, the A-League will be happy, I suppose.

During the World Twenty20 I was with a group of guys who couldn't really give a toss about it, but were very keen on watching Gayle bat.
