Emoticon Addiction
I don't do many Es really. Although I have over indulged on occasion I rarely succumb at all; just the odd :silent: and the occasional perhaps. But I'm worried that I may cave in to peer pressure and start using on a regular basis. They look so pretty and shiny. I feel myself trying to think up threads just so I can use the more wacky ones like and . Is there an Emoticon helpline? I don't want to end up like footwork, who can't write anything without bunging about a dozen in.

I like the swordfighting one. The first time i worked out how to use them that was the one I used.

Re: Emoticon Addiction
Your concept is so one-dimensional eh.
You know they say a picture's worth a thousand words. And with some of the words I've read a picture would've sufficed.
Bloody hell, some of your mate Peter's words I don't even bloody understand.
Of course some would say I use these emotes cause I carn speak English good nuff - the mongrels.
What you've omitted to mention is that, in a sea of grey, black and white, these little treasured faces brighten up the place (page) immeasurably. They bring colour and life to drab and and beige. I hate beige.
If you look at my emoticoning, you'll find the pages on which they appear always look bright and cheery - an aesthetic lost on cricketing men I'm shewer. In a nutshell they make me feel happy. You wouldn't begrudge me that small pleasure would you?
My goal atm is to find a subject fit for a Pharaoh, so I can use that poor neglected emote. Ooh I just did.
I'm with Bradman - I love the little swordfighters. Hope it doesn't show some deep psychological need for confrontation or sumink.

I don't begrudge you them at all, it's just that I know once I get into the Emoticon habit I'll never kick it. Pretty soon I won't be able to read books unless they've got little smiley faces after every sentence.

Re: Emoticon Addiction
Well said Peter. I think I understood just about all of that! (unless together they make up some sort of story, in which case I missed the whole bloody point.)
Although why you'd show me an English cricket-er with flat feet and an abysmal technique is beyond me.
