Re: Super 14 Rugby 2010
Didn't get to see the game (took qmyjr camping). Did it look like the ref was trying to keep the Brumbies happy?

Not half as much as the other idiot was trying to keep the Waratahs happy the week before.

Re: Super 14 Rugby 2010
Well, one week of the regular season to go, and it's effectively a final 6 scenario.
Here's the top end of the ladder:
1 Bulls 47 (PD 119)
2 Stormers 39 (PD 166)
3 Waratahs 38 (PD 81)
4 Brumbies 37 (PD 85)
5 Hurricanes 37 (PD 51)
6 Crusaders 36 (PD 75)
And next weekend, the Bulls play the Stormers, the Waratahs play the Hurricanes, and the Brumbies play the Crusaders.
The only thing that is certain is that the Bulls will finish on top, with a home semi final (and final if they qualify)already guaranteed. The losers of the Tahs/Canes and Nags/Cusaders games will go home, while the winners will make the semis.
The Stormers could finish 2nd and host a semi final, or finish 4th and have to play the Bulls two weeks running.
Intriguing stuff.

Tahs looked good v Canes. Still, they'll all get smashed by the Bulls.

Re: Super 14 Rugby 2010
The Brumbies had plenty of opportunities to seal a spot in the finals during the season, but the big turning point was when AA-C's try against the Tahs was disallowed. By a ref who was sacked the next week. Anyhoo, there's always next year.

Reds just managed to avoid throwing the game away against the Highlanders. Eleven tries scored in total in a pretty entertaining game.
Re: Super 14 Rugby 2010
Well, I think the Waratahs have been robbed of a home final. But that's the Saffies for you.
Hopefully the Bulls and the Stormers will choke like the South African cricket team next week, allowing NSW to host Canterbury in the final!

Bawahahahaha.
Maybe if the Waratahs had managed to win a few more games you might have a point.

Re: Super 14 Rugby 2010
If the referee in the Tahs/Nags game was anywhere near competent, the Nags would have been on the plane to Jaapan to lose this week instead of the Tahs. That's 'robbed' for you.taipan wrote:Hass wrote:Well, I think the Waratahs have been robbed of a home final. But that's the Saffies for you.

The value bet of the weekend will be the Crusaders to take out the Bulls. I'm gonna enjoy squandering the profits.

Yep, the Crusaders have been red hot the last couple of games and are coming good the right end of the season . . .

You feel it too tac? No injuries, no Loftus, no fear of failure and genuine hunger after they were ripped off in the last game against the Bulls.

Crusaders paying 2.70 on NSW TAB sportsbet.
3.75 for a win by 1-12, or 8.00 for 13+. Which means that if you back both points brackets, and they get up, you come out in front of the simple win bet.
And JGK - STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS MATCH

And I álso didn't whinge when the AB's pulled all of their players out of the S14 a couple of seasons back when they wanted to keep them fresh for the WC. Not that it helped mind
