I can easily see him despatching the Aussie attack to all parts, mainly over the stands.

What's he like to leftie quicks? Midge and Bolly might give him some lifting stuff on off going away to slips.

Re: England v Bangladesh, 2nd Test, Manchester, June 4-8, 2010
It's generally accepted that his weaknesses are more mental than technical, while he seems to have gone some way to dealing with the "runs under pressure" issue in recent months his ordinary record against Australia without a hundred to his name is still a hurdle to overcome, whatever the standard of attack he's facing. That top score in the decider last year was a start though, even though we still had a go at him at the time for getting out and not going on to get a century.skully wrote:His 06/07 average perhaps indicates in the absence of TGM and tgm he may do OK.

What a ball that was from Shakib. I wish he was English, that would be the 5 bowler / 6 batsmen conundrum solved in a heartbeat.

That was an awesome ball by Shakib.

Indeed. However as I thought - never a danger that from 221-5 England wouldn't get 400.
Be interesting to see Shazhad bat - apparently Kim Barnett style?

Got a feeling Priors going to be left stranded, don't think the tail will like the spinners much.

2nd of Bell's 11 centuries in which he has been the sole century-maker of the innings - previous instance 138 also against Bangladesh at Mirpur in the last Test but one when Bresnan made 91. 2nd instance a wicketkeeper has got out in the 90s at OT - previous instance was Rodney Marsh's 91 in June 1972.

Another useful opening stand here. There's been a fair few false starts for Bangladeshi cricket at this level and they're still well short in the seam bowling department but if they stick with these young players they could become a competitive side before too long. Tamim and Shakib have the potential to become their first genuine global level stars.

Lordy, have been watching Sam Stosur get beat by the Italian lass and come back and see the Bangers have cleaned up the English tail and Tamim has gone apesh!t again.

He's not bad this Tamim fella.
Swanny back in the wickets and looking dangerous, fancy him to get a few here.

Actually Tamim's average falls down to 33.46 if you take out his scores against the minnows he is currently playing against.

bangladesh seem to play the same way as they did 10 years ago. one or two good individual performances and an abject display by the rest. in each and every damn match

Although obviously I'm supporting England it's quite frustrating to see such a talented side failing to deliver like this. Couldn't have hoped for a better opening partnership on this pitch and then they go from 126-0 to 185-5.The One wrote:bangladesh seem to play the same way as they did 10 years ago. one or two good individual performances and an abject display by the rest. in each and every damn match

Shahzad up around and over 90 mph pretty consistently. Maxed at about 92 mph.
Not tearing up any trees, but there's something there to work with that England are seriously lacking: pace.
