Awful innit ... a focking disgrace and undoubtedly the laughing stock of the cricket world.... even the corrugated iron-roofed stands in Georgetown Guyana and the jerry rigged seating in Amstelveen Holland (for the last WC) have more character and purpose that that red painted sh!te they've "erected" at Old Trafford.

England win toss and bat. Shazhad debut.
Sticking with the 6 bats + Prior, if you're not going to go 5 bowlers against the Bangles are you going to do that against Australia?

Aye, Merls. It's what I love about cricket in England. The charm of the old grounds.
Still, you have to make way for the "new world" yobs at some point, I suppose.
Has the main pavilion survived at OT?

It's an abomination - the management at OT should be ashamed. I bet the architect p!ssed himself laughing all the way to the bank.

Could say that, in the last 10 Tests since 1998 here England have won 5, drawn 4 and lost only 1 (Pakistan in 2001 as above which was largely due to some dodgy decisions on the last day by the late David Shepherd). However, in that period, England have only played Australia and South Africa here once (both games drawn).

handly little bowler is Shafiul Islam.
Whippy and quick - around 88 mph .. slanting it across the left hander.
Strausser misses out on a perfect batting track.... so here comes the saffie gardener, Jonny Trotters..with his tomato seeds.
