Re: UK politics thread
No. A 1950s film about the IRA with John Mills ... stoopid the things one remembers ... if I am not careful I will start spouting more poetry ... I'm thinking of WHAuden's poem on the Death of Yeats.
Oddly enough I just acquired for $3.00 from a Catholic Op Shop a book called "Yeats is Dead".
Given the old madman's views on the CC, it was either remarkable they were selling it or maybe they had it there to confirm the old scallywag was indeed no longer among us.

To our British forummers. We are getting a lot of stories about the Tommy Robinson affair & in particular regarding the censorship in the media. What is the general feeling in the UK?
Re: UK politics thread
So the Brexit clusterfark continues with the two Brexit ministers resigning.
Maybe if they win the WC, the Poms might reconsider the whole mess.

I think the brexit vote was more about Brussels oversight than racism.

Well there's been attempts by both sides but the pay cut would be a bitch.
Ricehorrie there was an element of racism but the over regulation and surrender of sovereignty was a more telling factor IMHO. Plus I made some money with gold so it can't be that bad.

Given the resentment in Pomgolia about EU opposition toits role in the rogue invasion in Iraq, the Hawks there are on the rise. The EU has been crucial in keeping the peace in Europe.

Yeah 1000 years kicking the shit out of each other was one of the reasons. Worked well in the Balkans, though tbf at the time that was an internal issue.

FFS France hasn't won a war without help since they invaded Algeria, Italy hasn't won a war since the third century and Germany gets the world nervous when they lock and load.
A European war might be like a 2nd division football match from the thirties.

Yeah. Tanks and aircraft versus blokes on horseback armed with jaziels. I assume you're being sarcastic.
