Date or no date?
Okay so the girl who I've been friends with for a while texted me last night saying that she had tickets to go and see Russell Kane on Friday and asked if I'd like to go with her.
I said yes as I generally do shit all on Friday night's since I've moved here, I don't really know this guy and he looks like a bit of a twat, but it beats staying in.
But I'm not sure if this is a date or not now... As I've said before she's the only good mate I have around here and don't want to screw that up. This is the first time we've ever "been out" like this, we usually just do boring shit like sit around drinking coffee, watching TV and playing Triv.
So this is new territory and it has just happened after I've broken up with my GF....
Have I just been asked out or am I reading too much into this? She is 100% in the "I would" category, and if I had any other mates around here I wouldn't even hesitate.
Incidentally blame trev for starting this agony aunt type bullshit, I'm just flowing with the times man, chillax.

Go for it; see what happens. Don't do anything you'd be ashamed of later. You'll kick yourself later if you don't do this.

Oh I'm definately going, I just don't know what to expect and whether to turn up in jeans and a megadeth T shirt or my pulling shirt and a dab of hugo boss.
Also is it rolling with the times? It is isn't it. Gah.

You might be flowing with the times as well. Is her name Flo?

Haha no. Also, coincidentally she has the same first name as my ex, so if I do the cliché of shouting my ex's name it won't matter.
Anyway, just got a random stabbing pain in my chest. If I don't post tomorrow I may be dead, going to bed now though.

Hmm, to play safe and stay in the Friendzone, or go all out?? Let her lead the way, vilks. If she happily plays with the fat in your pants, that's a good sign. That way, you can't fark up.

Re: Date or no date?
Go all out.
You can't be a really close long term friend with a chick anyway. Eventually you both get married and it's all too hard. So you'll just spend a lot of your life wishing that you hadn't been a gentleman.

I think it probably is a date because whenever I asked guys to the footy, cricket or somewhere else it was because I liked them and hoped to move things on!
Also, think we need an 'agony aunt' thread to sort out all these complicated matters of the heart!!

There matters aren't complicated.
Golden rule, if you have an opportunity to have sex with a chick you quite like you take it.
Bobbitt exception - don't do it if it will cost you a part of your anatomy if you did it (mostly applies to married men)
Carey exception - don't do it if the chick is your best mate's missus

doubt we need such a thread Red...I think the Aus politics thread already serves as a source for the unrequited feelings of skully, rd and bodyline for the PM

Of course I was being facetious.
I think they should let their heart rule their head on these matters.
Just heard some woman who'd written about the female sex drive talking about how pornography, the sexualised society etc. are out of kilter with women's sex drive which is said to be heading south because of all the complexity surrounding modern living. She was also talking about a growing breed of married couples called DINS so for the blokes here who get asked out, they should probably respond to this sponetaneity.
Another author was talking about the concept of globesity.

It was a horace post ....
I could have jumbled the letters , crossed out every third one and added the numbers from pi to 724 decimal places and it would have made more sense

Re: Date or no date?
now now boys...that is a little unfair...I think it is a bit unfair to accuse bodyline of having a crush on ljh...he never forgave ljh for making him bury his AK47s during the gun buy back scheme...
on the other hand it would seem that skully, barney and rd (when he is not fixated by his sock) have obsessional crushes on the present idiot PM
