There's a bit of a Germanic-ish "ochk" from the back of the throat at the end of it. Difficult to describe and I can't be arsed to upload a file of me saying the word.

Exactly. The best thing about advice is that it can come from anyone, even from some know-nothing wazoo. It's all down the advisee to find the pertinence amongst it. Then and only then does it become good advice.

I surprised myself to be honest.

I think my attitude has totally changed since the last GF, I'm actually not that arsed about getting involved with anyone, even for just a fling, but ironically, that blasé approach seems to work better than my usual "laugh after everything they say whilst praising them relentlessly" tactic. Desperation is definately not attractive.
