Those two dropped catches are going to cost us....big time.
Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Sage, BD. The ugliest man in Aus cricket could be the man who wins the Shield for the Billies.
Over 40.1: Bird to Hopes, no run, DROPPED, drives hard and Butterworth has dropped a very hard chance with his right hand at 2nd slip!! The ball was in, but fell out on the impact.
Over 33.5: Butterworth to Hartley, two runs, DROPPED. It was a good ball forcing Hartley to defend and the edge flew away. It would have carried to Cowan's left hand side at 1st slip but Kruger dived in front of him. He only got one hand to it and knocked the ball away, hard chance for Kruger.
Unlucky.

Despite not putting the foot down (on the Billy throat), Tozzies now in the ascendancy.
Given the slow play (*cough* England used to get pilloried for this *cough*), will they have time to force a win? I believe a draw gives the Shield to Qld?

As for "ugliest man", well that's a bit Billist.
Surely Cozzy was separated at birth?
(Not necessarily from Hopes.)

(btw Magoffin is no oil painting either. And Peter Siddle could top up his income scaring children in an alley.)

No comment from Oz??
From the last I saw, the Qld keeper is surpassing himself and the tailender Magoffin keeping him company - 50 partnership. Turning into a nuisance for Tas, after they seemed to have broken the back of the Billy batting. First innings lead melting.
Brendan Drew is going for a few. (Has he got a clue?)

Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Or maybe:
having too many Qld and Tas-based commentators was considered too biased
all the NSW-based commentators were too cynical and above it all
the Victorian comms were too bitter and twisted
the Wozzies were all out burning crosses in anger
they couldn't find anyone from NT
and all the Sozzies tripped over their feet and fell on their faces on the way to the Gabba?

Is there a new ball due soon, or is it very hot? Or why isn't either of the two Bs bowling?

Hartley's ton, and the highest stand of the match so far.

And finally Magoffin is gone. Just short of the century partnership.

All done. Hartley out for 111.
Tas face a small deficit of 35 to knock off before they start to set a total.

Warner must be well up there.
Tassie hasn't helped its cause by the number of dropped catches.
Haven't been impressed by Triffitt.
Shaping up into a very interest contest though, weather permitting. Very good innings from Hartley.

Top knock by Hartley. Making a ton after coming in at 5-56 is a mighty effort. And it seems to have knocked the wind out of the Tozzies, who have quickly lost 3 wickets (including another failure for Drunky), and are only 1 run in the lead.

Clearly the wrong time to have breakfast. Left at 1/7, came back at 4/40.

Lone hand by Moo looks to be very much in vain. Unless Butters has another Shield Final century up his sleeve.

Danny Morrison now lives on the Gold Coast. He was doing commentary during the Tests as well.
Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Looks like we are stuffed. Worst batting performance by Tassie all season. Game won't go to the fifth day.
Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Disappointing by Tassie in the second dig.
Double horror failure for Punter.
