Still, if the Doubleheaders can eke out another 100 or so, this still could go down to the wire.

Double horror failure for Punter.
Worse for Kruger. I don't know why they included him. His form this season has been non existent. I guess without Cossie & Bailey they were hoping he could revive a bit of last seasons form.....but no. He scored a total of one run & put down Hartley early in his innings. Stoopid former Billie.

So you didn't have some has-been Spiv loitering in Grade scoring a gazillion that was worth a go?

Unforch...no. Might have been better to play someone like Gulbis but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Tozzies' only hope seems to be in the dairy. Cowman and Butters.
Pity they didn't draft in Fromage at 9.

do you two count bollybogan as part of the deep bowling stocks...surely shallow end

freddy, punter and drew have contributed zilch...prolly the worst decision the toxics made was making punter captain...'we'll have a bat"
still there is a bit to go in the match and the toxics are still a chance
lots of kudos to Hartley and Hopes their potentially match winning knocks

Hopes gets Butters. The end is near. Tozzies only 125 ahead with 3 in hand.

The Qld batting line up is double *****. Runs on the board for the headers. It ain't done.

I think you are being unnecessarily pessimistic, MS. But kudos to Kevin Mitchell Jr for producing a results wicket rather than a road.

I was about to say
Cowan carries best hopes for Tasmania ....
But checking the score, I see
Cowan c Harris b Hopes 71.
The fat lady must be rehearsing.

All over.
A bit sh1t from the Tozzies.
Still, looks like the ball is doing a little. Might be a chance for Bird to be a hero.

If your fellas don't get up to 133 on the Gabba, they deserve to be exiled to the South Australian outback, Mick.

Main spearhead Bird breaks through in the middle of his third over - and is taken off after his next.
Is there a strategem here? Or is it another cunning plan from Ricky, given there are lots of runs to play with?
Aha - a change of ends, I see.

Less than 100 to go.
Well done Billies. Showed way more ticker than the Tozzies.

Maybe so. But without McDermott (with a bit of Magoffin), then Hopes and above all Hartley (and a bit of Magoffin again), they'd have been struggling.
Hopes and Harris then ran riot in the Tas second innings.

Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
A perhaps untimely tribute to Tasmania cricket.
Given the relative size, of population and catchment - and presumably also financial heartland/sponsorship? - they have been overachieving massively in recent years.
I suppose NSW and Victoria claim they give all their best players to the national squads, but still .... the Tozzie success is a bit shame-making for the cricket organisations of the big states, surely?
