Toxics to wipe the gabbattoir with chips...unless of course it rains
would be tough on the toxics if they twice became runner up on a technicality in the one season

Ponting made captain - wow.
If tactics come into it, a Qld victory on the cards.

He's had a good season.PeterCS wrote:Is Billy McD's sprog any good?
Commentators are expressing surprise in Ponting's decision to bat first. The wicket looks a bit seamy. Magoffin is bowling big outswingers to the 2 lefties and Rhino is darting it about nicely. Hard work for the batsmen at the moment.

On paper, Qld have an impressive seam attack (if their bodies hold up). Hadn't realised Magoffin had moved "back" from WA.
Not sure about their spinner, though. Though I guess in Brizzy, he's a luxury.

Perhaps "We'll have a bowl mate" was dinning in his ears.

Good start for Tassie so far. Punter invariably bats first even if it's a greentop in overcast conditions. Lucky for him his bowlers were often able to bail him out after the batting collapsed.

Ponting captained the last shield game win against WA too.

Tassie lose Cowen just before lunch. Tas 1/73
Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Why am I getting a Sky NZ telecast of this match? Now I have to tolerate Danny Morrison. Cam Boyce is getting some decent turn, does he do anything in non Shield final matches?

Goodish session for Tasmania, given the wicket was doing plenty. One out of the rough undid Moo. Still reckon Rhino will bag a Michelle.

Cazza gets a half ton without scoring a four. Tassie scoring slowly but doing the right thing by occupying the crease until the wicket flattens out for Ponting.

Moo and Cazza batted very well. This Doolan chap looks alright.

Some reasonable genes there. Hopefully the "McSoft" genes were not transferred.

Billies edge in front. Will just have to hope Tweety doesnt have an off game.
Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Faulkner unlucky to get an LBW. Tassie now struggling at 5/178. Decision to gamble with Freddie & Punters early demise has cost us dear.

But have the Banjos got the side to put 900 on the board? On paper, it doesn't look like it.
