I won't bother watching. Stories like this are always much better if done in documentary form rather than as a mini-series or movie. They end up as corny as hell.

So (the conveniently late) David W. Hookes, apparently (see glos) was the bunny that got sloshed and spilt the beans at Greig's BBQ....

We've had 'f!@#$ democracy', we've had 'devil take the hindmost', what price 'walk into a meat mangler' some time between now and the next ad break?

Rod Marsh and Greg Chappell look passable. The rest ... hmmmm.
Still, it's not about lookalikeableness. How did they act?

The guy playing Tangles was pretty close. Most of the actors lets themselves down in the scene practising in the nets. Some pretty awful actions there.

Aye. It was never made clear why he was ignored. Maybe Packer thought he did'nt have enough crowd pulling power.

btw: Is that a young(ish) Tawny Grigg co-commentating with Lawry? I didn't realise he got a TV contract so soon after retirement. Must have been about 86? (Not Grieg.)

Re: Kerry Packers War...
I remember Tangles and Mick Malone indulging in a little bit of ball tampering at the Oval in 1977 - when they were observed to be rubbing sun cream into the ball.
