Re: Kerry Packers War...
The makeup was terrible, and the acting more wooden than a mahogony coffee table.
Apart from that, the 5 mins I saw looked fine.

Yes! Its back on - BBC4.
There should be more historical dramas starring people playing Richie Benaud.

World famous cricketer Tony Greig talks about Kellogg's Nutri-Grain
Have you ever tried Kellogg's Nutri-Grain? It looks like a tiny cricket bat.

Kerry Packer wrote:Christ, you boys put it around a bit. You couldn't slip one to Rose, could you?
Re: Kerry Packers War...
The scene in the recording studio is one of the most excruciating things i've ever seen.
Re: Kerry Packers War...
Ha ha - just seen the clip of the Windian hurtling shoulder into the boundary board. Fielding 1970s style.
Re: Kerry Packers War...
Interesting...
Coinciding with the inaugural pink-ball Test match, Cricket Australia is formally recognising the pioneers of the day-night game, World Series Cricket.
CA will announce on Wednesday that the records of World Series players will be incorporated into their overall records, though in a separate column.
The move ends nearly 40 years of official pretence that WSC did not happen, although most who played in it said it was the toughest cricket they ever played.
WSC was the rebel troupe formed by Kerry Packer in 1977 to take on the establishment. It was officially loathed, but became highly popular.

At this stage, only Australia has moved to recognise the WSC stats.
MORE TO COME

Recognition as first class/List A? In a heartbeat.
Recognition as Test? Not in a million years.
(Even though it would improve the stats for a few favorites)

Seems that it won't be FC/List A recognition either - just some additional category.
If that's right then it is meaningless.

Agree. Perhaps they could have incorporated it into the record books with an asterisk.
Seems fair to them to gain recognition given that they were poorly paid and ended up making a difference for future generations.
Additionally modern players have inflated records due to a number of factors yet the WSC being omitted seems ironic in light of the fact that most who played rated its standard more highly than what encountered during their mainstream careers.
