Graeme Cessford - household name eh? Three games for our seconds in August and he gets a contract.

Hopefully he makes it. An easy glossary entry if he does, though

He played. I dunno if he did decently as such. Kept well apparently. But his only decent knocks came against Nepal and Zimbabwe, so hardly a shining endorsement of ability.

He's 29 and hails from Hexham - could be another David Lucas

Well Nepal won their first trophy of any sort in cricket and ZImbots are returning to cricket. He couldn't have picked two more up and coming nations to succeed against.Brass Monkey wrote:tricycle wrote:Didn't Duckett do decently in the U19s World cup? Or was that against a shitpiece team?

Aye, can't complain really. It's not like it was the USA or anything.
Re: English off season 2012/13.
Clearly. Now if he'd gone on a Facebook war with the Seppos, he'd have cemented his status there.

Re: English off season 2012/13.
Surrey name some pub cricketer or other as their new captain. Graeme Smith or something.
They probably call him Smithy for short.
He sounds shit.

... another reason for Horrie to support Yorkshire.
Not sure what Horrie did when Katich played for Yorkshire though.

Worcestershire sign Australian wicketkeeper Michael Johnson
Worcestershire have agreed a deal to bring wicketkeeper Michael Johnson to New Road for the 2013 season.
Perth-born Johnson, 24, who made his first-class debut for Western Australia in 2009, will compete for the gauntlets with Ben Cox, following last summer's release of Ben Scott.
Michael Johnson
Born Perth, 11 August 1988
Has played 10 first-class matches for his home state, Western Australia, hitting 200 runs, including one half-century, as well as claiming 34 catches and two stumpings
Has played Second XI cricket with Somerset (2007), Hampshire (2010) and Kent (2012)
The former Australia Under-19 international holds a dual passport.
"Michael comes to New Road as a ready made first-team player," said director of cricket Steve Rhodes.
"I am looking forward with interest to the healthy scrap for the gloves with Ben Cox."
Johnson added: "I am very much looking forward to working closely with Steve Rhodes and the rest of the squad.
"I hope to be a part of the developing team that brings success to New Road. I can't wait to get started."
.....
Now about 4th in line (at least) for the Wozzie gloves ...scores runs galore in grade cricket ....never had the same success at FC level ...good bloke (according to other umpires) ...

I think he'll get a decent run in the side. His competition is Ben Cox - only 20, but has never the looked the part when I've seen him.
