George Dobbell saying Dave Brooks has resigned as Sussex CEO
Most importantly, what will that mean for the Guernsey Sussex pioneering partnership.

Re: English off season 2012/13.
Shahzad has rocked up at Notts on a three year contract.
Should put him back in the England reckoning.
Needs to shape up, though. Seemed to take a couple of new ball wickets early up and then fade away and finish with 2-80 or 3-100 in most innings.

He had 'administrator' written all over him.
In all seriousness, it's good that top gents are getting the jobs.

Aye, but what would've been fitting for the ICC was if the Gavaskar likes were replaced by Healy or Slater.

Definitely.
He was a great signing for Lancs last season. Did slightly worse than Saj Mahmood, whom he supplanted, and who has subsequently been released.
"We" also signed Naqaash Tahir, who was hurt all season and I can't remember playing a single game - released.
"We" also captured Yasser Arafat for T20s, who got clobbered to Bolton, Stockport and Wigan on the diminishingly rare occasions he was allowed near a ball, before being spirited off to play for Pakistan.
"We" really pick 'em.
Unless there is a spinner against us, that is.
("We" = I deny all responsibility for these ingenious signings. Lancs won the Champ the season before almost entirely without imports or wundercoup draftings, on the back of an undisrupted team effort! )

Re: English off season 2012/13.
Shahzad has the potential to be a very good signing for the MightyZ. He has hit a bit of a dip in his career but with Newell as coach we have specialised in picking up players at the bottom of their value and turning them into first-class cricketers again. It could go either way, but if he cannot take wickets at Trent Bridge, he really is doomed. Personally I'm happy with him as he should, on paper, strengthen our batting and bowling line-up, presuming he's a straight swap for Pattinson. Plus he'll be learning from the Dre-star.
I'd like for us to sign a spinner that actually turns the ball, though. And a batsman who can actually hold a bat the right way up. Our team at the minute:
Alex Hales
Riki Wessels
Michael Lumb
Samit Patel
David Hussey maybe?
James Taylor
The Lord of All Creation, His August Majesty Sir Christopher of Read
Ajmal Shahzad
? Phillips/Carter/Somebody new ?
Andre Adams
Harry Gurney
It's not bad for a county XI. Not sure if Hussey is plausible. I'm hoping ? isn't going to be Ben Phillips because he's a bit old. And a bit medium pace.

Perhaps it will, but he did suggest that he was going there at least partly for the juicy wickets. Just the attitude you want in a top player - "where is the game easiest to play?"
He won't play for England again.

How can the age of Surrey's squad continue to rise after Ramps retired?! I thought they were confident they had top notch kids too.
