Rumours doing the rounds that Ponting's technique isn't what it once was. A few subtle changes as he's gotten older?

Well that was painful.
Is this the future of test cricket? Give an opener free rein and hope he comes off more often than not?

Once again Warner fails to last 40 overs as opener.

Saffies well in this by the way.
Given how flat the pitch is, Aust will need 500 to be safe.

Reinventing?
I don't know why some are surprised. Sehwag's only been doing it for 10 years.....

Kleinveldt is working away on Pup manfully here. C'mon Clarke, sniff that ball.

Good spell by Morkel and Kleinveldt here - other than that half volley on Pup's legs.
I'm with h and MrK - the Yarps are only a wicket away from possibly looking at restricting Aus to 350 or less.

Kleinveldt looks like he's worked himself into a nice rhythm, and looks pretty good.

One of the square boundaries is just 55 metres. Ridiculous. That's the kind of boundary I had when playing under 16s cricket.

And further proff that the Nine commentators do ZERO research-
Mark Nicholas- "South Africa have numerous fast bowling options at home....Charl Willoughby, Wayne Parnell......
He's retired.

Aye. Madness for a Test match. This match should have been played in Hobart.

Belated stat. TCS and Pup broke the 4th wicket record v SAf at Adelaide with their 155. Previous best - 116 Bardsley and Trumper in 1910-11.
