Australia v South Africa, 2nd Test, Adelaide, 22-26 November, 2012
So Starc in for Milf and the other ten remain the same?

Unless Watto is fit then Watto for Tonic.

Clarke seems adamant that Watto will only play if he's capable of bowling.

Starc for Hilfenhaus is the only likely change for Aus.
For South Africa, they'll have to decide whether to do a direct sway of du Plessis for Duminy, or bring in Tsolekile and allow AB to concentrate solely on his batting. They'll almost certainly bring in Tahir for Kleinveldt.

They'll definitely play Tahir in Adelaide. AB will remain keeper and de Plessis or the new guy for Duminy.

If Warner fails twice on the Adelaide Autobahn, maybe Tonic will go up and Uzzy or Doolan (or Haddit??) to come into the middle order.

du Plessis deserves to get the nod before Elgar. AB will probably remain keeper for at least this series. Can't see the point of playing a 32 year old keeper who's a modest performer anyway. They're just waiting for de Kock to mature.

Ponting's under a bit of pressure as well. What with his uncertain duck and Uzi's classy ton the other day.

de Kock isn't cheese, Red.
They'll play him when he's good enough. Tsolekile has had a couple of very good domestic seasons and had been the next in line keeper for a couple of years. If it really does become obvious that keeping is affecting AB's batting (and in seven innings as keeper, he averages 33, so it appears it does) then Tsolekile will get first dibs. Either in Adelaide and Perth or in South Africa's next home series against the Windies (?)

They'll give Warner a chance to recreate his Perth dig from last year.

The worry is if they play Tsolikile to blance the quota

I also think South Africa need AB's spark in the field. Du Plessis was the only stand out in Brisbane and the rest looked flat.

Amla, Petersen, Philander and Tahir will be four non-white players even if Tahir is not a genuine 'quota' player according to their definitions.
But losing Duminy hurts their quota.

Yes not a good fielding team these days, especially without AB. Surely Rudolph must be under pressure from du Plessis and/or Elgar?

So why mention him if he is not part of the quota?

The fact that he's non-white might satisfy some.

Alternative 2nd Test Aus v SA, Adelaide Nov 2012 thread
How about we all quietly make this the official Test thread and leave Laverne and Shirley to do whatever TF is is they do on the original one?
