No chance. One thing's for certain- There's no way Johnson would have tried as hard as Siddle did this afternoon. He would have taken his cap when Faf and AB were stonewalling and told Clarke he'd had enough.

Maybe he'll be fine. But I would be worried if we had to bowl first in Perth with Milf and Cot.

There's also talk of promoting Bird. Chappelli is currently on saying the selectors have to tell Punter that he can have Perth providing that he announces his retirement at the end of it.

Assuming Watson is now fit to bowl again, having him will take some strain away from Siddle and Hilfenhaus. Aus squad for Perth announced within the hour, apparently. I suspect both Starc and Johnson will be in the squad. And perhaps even an outsider like John Hastings just in case Watson has a last minute setback.

I wouldn't risk bowling Watto. He will slide into no. 3 for Tonic, and field at 1st slip all Test.

If they go with 4 quicks, Hastings might be worth a run as the 4th seamer behind Cot, Milf and Koo.

Bird crapped all over Midge on the same wicket in Hobart. If Johnson gets the nod over ....anyone really, there needs to be a Royal Commission.

The South African physio will be working overtime on Kallis. He'll probably spend the next couple of days in an oxygen chamber.

He didn't look that inconvenienced while batting today, although he obviously wasn't running any quick singles. I reckon he'll be good to go but just not bowl.

You look and see it's the 26th November, then you look and see Perth starts on the 30th November. Then you feel sorry for Peter Siddle.

Clarke said that the selectors probably won't make a final decision until tomorrow. Smith said that Kallis will be given time to prove himself but Philander looks like being fit. Watto for Quiney a no brainer but we maybe have to freshen up the bowling anyway with the Saffers being more rested in this department. At least Perth might have something more in it for the quicks.

Aye, he'll be hobbling for a couple of days. I'd reckon he'd hope Pup wins the toss and Aus bat for 2 days.
