Or will he have to follow him in English, on twitter?
Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the cricket coach of Eng-lair. (that's him saying England with a put-on posh English accent)

Will Smith would do a better job than Gilo.
JADEN Smith would do a better job than The Karape' Kid from Guildford.
MEL Smith .... etc etc.

In west Surreydelphia born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Shittin' out twattin' scattin' all cool
And all bowlin some half-volleys outside of the school
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making job offers in my neighbourhood
I got in one little flight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your Nassie and Duncle in Bel End'

So it's Giles who will pick up the White Man's Burden?

Take up the White Man's burden, Send forth the best ye breed
Go bind Ashely Giles to your son's behind, it'll serve your captives' need;
To wait in heavy harness, On fluttered folk and wild--
Your new-caught genius,Ian Bell, Half-devil and half-child.
And so on. What a genius that R. Kipling.

FFS.
I may have to send a monkeh style email to the ECB.
This is embarrassing. By what standard of any credentials can he be a candidate, let alone coach. And it's not even like he was a good selector or has won much as the sh1tbash coach either!
This Downton chap is a moron!

Is it a good thing that we're getting it over with now? 0-7 at home against Sri Lanka and India, and then our HFRS figure emerges to win back the Ashes next year?
Anyway, now Flower's gone, how about one last roll of the KP dice and make him captain?

England to be lead by a wheelie bin that's not been empty for a fortnight...

Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
Pretty much all of the negatives about making Giles coach have already been pointed out. He was appointed to the one day role back in 2012 from within a self-congratulatory system, keen to pat itself on the back at every opportunity, quick to talk about "legacy", and convinced that it was the best system in the world.

"Legacy" as in the definition of crappy old IT systems that a company can't or won't commit the money and resource to replace?

Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
FFS, from this gushing article, you'd think Giles was some kind of messiah. We're down 1-6 in the short stuff you moron! Who is this Ehantharajah guy, anyway?
http://www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/story/714683.html
"Giles has big shoes to fill, of that there is no question, but watching him operate over the last month, the impression you get is of a composed individual who is more than capable of taking the reins."
"What has been most striking about Giles on this tour has been the way he has carried himself. Throughout a draining cycle of training, matches, press conferences and air travel, he has maintained a calm demeanour, embracing his role as figurehead of the latter part of this tour."
Who gives a f*ck how he "carries himself"???? Wins and losses are the only thing that matter. Surely there has never before been a man who did so little, yet received so much praise.

I was going to compose a long post about how Mickey Arthur would be better than Giles. But decided not to waste my time.

Even Gilo's BFF doesn't want him in the job: Vaughan thinks the ECB should go for Gary Kirsten.
Says it all. I mean, it doesn't. But it says it all.

When was that taken? Belf looks about 14. And who's the pirate standing beside him?

Well, Belly's the Old Kid on the Block now.
(But to answer Skully's question: mid-to-latish 2008, allegedly.)

That really is the prototype for a new Belf photo. I look forward to seeing what our resident photochoppers can do with it, come December.

Kirsten. Even bring Feltch back. Anyone but the worst spinner to ever play more than 20 Tests, who also seems to have screwed up our limited overs teams.

Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
The fact he was an ordinary player is irrelevant (how many great players become great coaches?) but it's the fact that his status as a "team" man has earned him an unwarranted progression through the ranks that most English cricket fans have a problem with. That and the apparent refusal to consider looking outside the system for a fresh approach. There's continuity and then there's total blinkeredness (if that's a word?)Neil D wrote:Christ on a bike.
