Puck 183* at stumps.

Vic bats combined v Worsties and Jellies are 4/850+.

Admittedly the Oppo Jelliy and Worstie bowlers are not first class bowlers and the pitches are appalling roads.

And S Marsh is as thick as a plank as a skipper. His attack has heaps of right arm trundlers. Only in the shadows of stumps did he get one of the medium right armers to bowl around the wicket at Puck.

On taking the 2nd new ball, Gannon and Kelly got some movement. Of course they started with a threatening cordon of 2 slips. After BannedCheat dropped a regulation catch at 2nd slip, Bog dispensed with 2nd slip and then 1st slip. At this stage there was still some movement.

The toughest comment about WA is they bowled way too short to Puck. The bloke just loves playing off the back foot.

Meanwhile, will Frump come to his senses and realise that no amount of legal posturing (and so far that's all it is - posturing - no proof) will make a jot of difference.

As a number of notables have said today - time to put the big boy pants on and concede graciously.

Methinks the Donald doesn't know what the word "gracious" means.

The Constitution does not require a concession from the loser. All Trump would be doing would be breaking convention. He's done that for 4 years. What's new?

What happens if you "concede" and then end up with the required votes?

My guess: You look like a bit of a clot for a while (or even quite a lot of a clot), but from a legal viewpoint you have changed nothing - any more than Trump claiming victory five minutes (approx) after polls shut had legal consequence last week

They could negotiate for Trump to be pardoned on Jan 21, conditional on him not embarrassing himself or his party or the USA and co-operating with the incoming Mayor and Corporation up to Jan 19

Wasn't that a basically useless move though?

Wouldn't Biden have a whole new Executive team anyway?

The new guy can use US troops to scatter rioters for another two months, something the old guy refused to do.

That doesn't make sense - how can the "new guy" use troops for another two months?

Ah, of course skully.

Mr K is still wrong though. The new DS can't, and the old one didn't *refuse to*.

The president threatened to use federal troops to quell the violence and was quickly informed that he didn't have the authority to do so.

Besides, the rioting has strangely died down for some reason.

The joint has 1.0M new covid cases in the past 10 days. You would think the best thing would be to focus on that. But no. The modern day Nero has no interest.

Trump's buffoonery is only matched in modern times by Idi Amin. Amin would be the perfect character to play Trump in a satirical bio-pic. There could have been running jokes about bone spurs.
