Good to see you, Horatius.

As Biden said, during the apparently endless count, "Keep the faith". (He wasn't talking of his own Catholicism at the time ... Wink )

Ta Pete.

Biden now leads Trump by 5.1M in the national vote.

I note Boris referred to Trump as former President Trump.

No credible evidence of voting fraud has been provided by Trump. Some mad postie in Pennsylvania recanted on his allegations. The NYTimes spoke with key Red and Blue election officials in most States and none said there was impropriety.

Trump appointees in the election commission and transition teams are dragging the chain.

The Reds control some State legislatures and Gov offices in some States Biden won. They make appointments to the bizarre Electoral College.

Trump could still 'win' if those States awarded Electoral College votes to him. Far fetched? Yes, but this is a tin pot banana republic run by a despotic buffoon. The shyte would really hit the fan.

Meanwhile the Dumpster is ignoring the massive CV outbreak in his country. Arguably his wanton neglect has already cost 10s of thousands of lives and impaired the health of millions. He should be investigated for manslaughter charges.

Instead he is focussing on sacking and replacing key officials. A particular worry is Defence and what he might manufacture internally and externally to stay in power. He may also end up being investigated for treason.

I think the idea would be to prevent states turning up.  They're legally required to vote a certain way.

Fox and CNN reporting that a "dejected" Trump is getting closer to accepting his fate and conceding, as no concrete evidence of voter fraud can be proven.

Meanwhile, the Trump Administration is blocking the flow of daily Presidential briefing notes to the Prez-elect. Really? Deary me.

So Biden ends up with the same EC votes as Trump got last time but with 8 million more votes (relatively) than Trump managed.

Mad system.

And is it turns out, if not for about 23,000 people voting for Biden over Trump (spread across 3 states), El Trumpo would have won it.

In practice a couple of hundred voters in three seats could change our elections and do, but you're right their system sucks.

Bill Barr latest to throw cold water on the Trump 'we wuz robbed' campaign...from the obscure and legally irrelevant standpoint of US Attorney General. Expect Bill will feel (or not feel, depending on how efficiently it's applied) a crow-barr behind the earhole sooner rather than later....

Meanwhile Rudy Giuliani reported to be exploring options re wangling a pardon for himself. Which, seeing as Goolies would (if successful) no longer need the 5th to protect him from self-incrimination, and would therefore no longer be able to invoke it to clam up to a GJ or a House Committee if they were to ask him about certain activities of, frinst, Trump....seems to me that certain people, frinst Trump, have good cause to be very worried indeed at the Rudester's game plan.

Tough call for Barr. He has balanced the crow 'barr' as against standing in a very long queue of Admin types begging for a Trump pardon. He is taking his chances. Unhappily Biden is a stick of limp hairline fractured celery. Barr really should face a raft of charges. Of course we can't talk with Downer and Taylor sliming about.

Black face Rudy is a different kettle of fish. He is so in the gun over Ukeyville. I am still predicting that Trump will manufacture an illness and step down in January and install Pence to grant him an open ended pardon. They will try and craft trumps pardon to protect him against State actions.

Must say I love this shit. Seppo gaols are filled with 3 strikes petty crims coughing cv19. Yet these monstrous corporate crims will all escape sanction.

Applying logic (which can be misleading, esp in the special case of Seppo constitutional law), a pardon would be for a specific action or series of actions, and would mean that those actions remain illegal but the State has undertaken not to enforce the law in that specific case. So Nixon was pardoned for his Watergate shenanigens and possibly other side-issues, but if evidence later turned up of other wrongdoing (eg he had had Jimmy Hoffa killed), he would not be able to invoke the pardon to avoid the consequences. Which is what it seems to me an 'open ended pardon' would mean. Surely if that is what Trump is playing for, we can get a very quick ruling from Mr Justice Darryl Kerrigan....

Much the same as ours, which gives majority Tory governments on not much over 40% of the vote, giving them free rein to impose the most destructive of Brexits alongside all their other incompetence, cruelty and favouritism. And only a small fraction of seats can really influence anything.

Mind you, the alternative was Corbyn, expect him leading us through the pandemic would have been equally bad.
