One-sided here. The already depleted SA, is going to be depleted further for the next test. The quota conundrum will be interesting.

Shows Elgar's inexperience.
Rabada banned for next test; leaves them with a selection dilemma.
De Kock gives his wicket away too easily. Second fastest fifty at Lord's, but he is impetuous.
With Philander injured too, the quota issue looms largely.
Can't believe how depleted SA is, England should be smashing them, though they look like getting over the line comfortably.
Only consolation for SA is that their women are pulverizing India atm.
So Red? Did that guy hurt you so much?
Calling it as it is.
BTW, there would have been a lot of bowlers sitting on the sidelines at times, if everybody over the years who has told someone to fark off had been banned.

But the farkawf was just one point, added to three previous.
I think beamer fielded that one fairly well, three or four posts above.
The extra (tipping) point may seem harsh. But with the on-field mics these days picking up lots of chirp and chatter, added to current concerns (some would say overplayed concerns, to the point of paranoia) about the "role model" status of international cricketers built up to ridiculous levels, lionised, gladiatorised by contemporary TV/media hype ... perhaps it is not a surprise.
Inevitably however consistency then becomes a problem. Was Stokes blameless? Maybe he was, this time.
What about questions that are likely to bear more directly on match outcomes and fairness also to spectators/viewers, such as over rates, timewasting, gamesmanship of various kinds? Where do you draw the line/s, relative to swearing?
Some of it should not be that difficult to regularise, if points systems are the thing. But swearing's bloody difficult. Not to say a farqin nightmare.

Banning for sluggish over-rates should definitely be a priority as that impacts on the appeal of the game in a competitive sporting market.

Great idea Red. Let's ban all the top players. That will really stimulate spectator interest.

Let's be honest, if they got serious about banning captains, they wouldn't have to ban too many, because the over-rate would pick up.
Sluggish over-rates are just as much a danger to the game, as the threat of some guy not playing because of a ban.
Some choose T20 over tests anyway.
Let's face it, the Aussies have banned themselves
England has said they're not coming unless we sort out the current mess.

I hope there is someone, somewhere in CA, with enough common sense to overthrow the current useless deluded pillocks and their fawning acolytes clogging up the system with their anergic self-important power-trips ...

Been off the air for the weekend.
Good tail wag to squeeze over 150 out of the last 5 wickets for SAf. But at nearly 220 in front with 9 2nd innings wkts left, England are in the box seat.

We could do without Cook and Ballance wasting a session here, they need to play for the team and either get on with it or get the free-scoring middle order in sooner rather than later.

Well, Root won't have the big decision of when to declare now at least, the draw pretty much taken out of the equation in half an hour.
Pitch looking tricky now and England have two spinners, but with momentum behind them SA could well chase down 300.

Pitch playing up. SA must rue the Root chances they let slip. Still would be a tough ask to get anything over 250. England's spinners more threatening than Maharaj.

Two second ball ducks for Dawson (a queen pair?) Hope his bowling makes up for it...

But imagine had you not reprieved Root so royally.
Good effort from Morkel in this match so far after being under some pressure.

Gawd, you really are captain obvious. But congrats you have now become more repetitive than horrie.

Was just prompting you for a little bit of reflection. You don't have to be so querulous.

Cute little piece contrasting de Kock and Jennings.

Nige likes to dominate.
So it's 331 to win for SAf.

"Oh Kock", he will say to that one... played on to a long-hop via bottom edge and front foot! Scorecard just reads "b Ali", Mo can claim it was a snorter in years to come!
