Re: Independence of CA's review slammed
Heard both Roberts and the equally villainous Greg Dyer (chair of the players association) on SEN over the past two days. Neither was persuasive.
Dyer said at one stage public opinion about the player bans was irrelevant. I had a real sense he has never got over the merde the public dumped on him after he claimed a catch that clearly bounced in front of him.
Both conveyed the belief they owned the game.
Tellingly Roberts had an attitude which said, "Yes we initiated the Review. Its now done. We've already implemented or commenced implementation of many of the recommendations from the Review. Nothing to see here."

Not that it will happen but I would like to see some government intervention or for the current Board to be replaced and CA run in the short term by some State Board reps in the short term until it is reconstituted.

Pity Hawk is on the way out or at least probably not up to it mentally.

The Rodent would do a far better job than Leave it to Peever (as Fred dubbed him).

Nup. The Silver Bodgie is toast. I'm sure the Rodent would grasp the opportunity. Imagine him wetting himself again with the Queen during the Ashes next year.

"Leave it to Peever" leaves well enough alone and resigns.

The person should not have a current or recent connection with a media outlet. I like Tubby but doubt he is bright enough.
I am not wedded to the person being a former cricketer. The person would ideally have a strong sense of the public good, organisational ethics, experience in running large public and private sector organisations.
I say public good because the Board is not simply responsible for turning a dollar.

Definitely an outsider or one of those who resigned earlier in the year. And an almost new board to go with it.

Cricket Australia and the ACA really has been beset with a hatful of arseholes. It is actually hard to find any reputable person associated with CA or the ACA.
If anything I found Dyer to be an even bigger cretin than leave it to Beever.

Dyer's comment about not worrying about public opinion was awful
Anyone else see the irony in the media arrogantly bullying Levita into resigning for being arrogant and bullying?

Spot on Embee re Dyer. I felt certain he stills feels damaged by the court of public opinion after he blatantly cheated.
Meh re Levita. His fatuous arrogance presented a please knock me down coco-nut shy at the fete. I am not sure the media could do much else than simply report his comments. Rather than the media, the State Associations cracked the shits about his reappointment ahead of the release of the Report and the fact they were given the Report a very short time before it was published.
As I understand it the NSW Cricket Association led the charge. There might be some other angst about the perceived tilt in the Oz cricket Axis to WA. A friend with a source at the Victorian Cricket Association said there was close uniform and hostile opposition to Peever from the States.
Peever would have backed himself to outlast the media tossers (and really there is sfa analysts worth a feed beyond Haigh in print and Whately on radio) but he could not face down the irate States.
