Saw Guardians of the Galaxy today, if you like Star Wars and other Marvel films you will love it, most fun I've had at the cinema for years.

Watched "Her" last night.
That's two hours of my life that I will never get back. What a pointless pile of poo.

Watched Edge of Tomorrow on DVD today. A little far fetched even for Sci Fi but it holds your attention.
Re: Anyone seen any good movies recently?

Re: Anyone seen any good movies recently?
not that I noticed ... he is a papier mache head for much of the film. It's pretty weird, but a very interesting portrait of creativity, OCD, and borderline function in society.
Brilliant performance by Fassbender.

Watched a Video of Jersey Boys. Never got the chance to see the stage show but this is the next best thing although i think Ryan Molloy would have made a better Frankie Valli.
Re: Anyone seen any good movies recently?

Saw Kingsmen:The secret Service last week. The film fell a little short in my view. It could'nt make up its mind if it was a serious action movie or a full on spy spoof. It came in somewhere in between. Some good effects but also very violent, particularly the Church massacre scene. Samuel L Jackson was the highlight as the arch villain.

"Chris Rock movie" and "looks ok" aren't two phrases you expect to see in the same sentence

I was watching the game at my parent's and when he hit it down the throat of the boundary rider my 70 year old mum came out with "why the fark do they keep picking him". Dad is still in shock

Re: Anyone seen any good movies recently?
Haven't seen it yet, going this weekend I think, but from this trailer this looks like the one of the most batshit insane films ever made:
Anyone seen it?
Anyone seen it?

I saw it the other day. It's mental. Entertaining as f*ck, but mental.
Best to not take it too seriously and just enjoy the ride.

"Best not to take it too seriously..." Unlike the other Mad Max films which were basically documentaries on Australian country living and Tina Turner's wig collection.
Re: Anyone seen any good movies recently?
So I spontaneously decided "F*ck it" and went to see this as there is a decent cinema a 10 minute walk away.
What a lovely day. Fans of the original 2 might complain about the lack of rape or torture but I'm not a massive fan of either so had a great time.
