So, what's your view on this?

GSC is so bitter and twisted he could be Horrie , but as much as he wanted change within the Subi team it was resisted for a variety of reasons (Common sense , Political , etc) ...Most of the blame seems to have been lumped on GSC and he is trying to open some eyes to what he thinks happened ...If he had got all the selections he wanted and the team failed you'd hope he'd take responsibility ...but as things didn't happen the way he wanted he shouldn't be the only one blamed ...

Didnt some of GSC's "youth selections" fail and have to be replaced by old players?

He's not the only one to blame, but he's surely got to take a good part of the blame. He was technically a good coach with a sound philosophy I thought, but his man-management skills were pathetic. Maybe we should have all coaches attend some school of diplomacy or something.

He's so arrogant. He acts like he is the greatest coach in the world who was let down by everyone else, but what has he ever actually achieved as a coach apart from dismal failure?

The series we played with most of his blue-eyed boys, we lost 4-0.

Despite all my reservations about GSC, I by and large agree with him on this. I had the same opinion prior the WC as well.

gsc in talking sh*t shock. like the little weasel who blames everyone but himself. he had gotten his younger team a year before the world cup but they were being hammered by everyone prior to it

Don't know about the BCCI but yeah, Chappell could have learned something from us in that regard.

Applause for Horrie.

IMO Chappell is doing Indian Cricket a service. Chappell is a control freak and as a Coach I have no time for him. But he is calling out some of the Taboos of Indian Cricket and Society as he sees it. It will obviously evoke the defensive reactions from the various narrow minded sectors who will continue to protect their wafer thin interests at the cost of the Country / team.

Dynasty and caset politics, Unprofessional institutions, Child abuse, Goonda Raj in places like Bihar are all increasingly under the focus and improving in the right direction. Indian Cricket cannot be immune from this progress.

From this perspective Chappell is doing his bit to set the cat amongst the pigeons and "out" matters like the "senior mafia" and blithering BCCI agendas.

I am hoping more people will speak out and show guys like Vengsarkar for what he stands for. Won't be long.

which of those younger players were going to take on the WC by storm? raina failed miserably in the WI a year earlier. Gambhir too looked out of sorts till a few knock in england. uthappa the only inexperienced player failed massively despite his high talent. they were just not ready.

its foolishness brought by personal preferences really. As a vision it makes sense. but for that particular campaign at that time , it hardly makes sense. this man has not learnt to seperate personal preferences and cold hard facts even at this age.that's his problem.

does he think that just because he wanted raina in the team ,
the youngster will acquire the skills, temperament and experience necessary to take on the likes of murali and mcgrath after his spectacular failure against mighty nel and bradshaw? no logic in that really.

There's no logic in any of these anti-senior "arguments" anyway. Just pure cold anti-emotion.

Actually there is a real danger for India that Agar"kar" / Aqua"kar" may be picked for OZ. He is part of the "Kar" clan that Vengar"kar" so unashamedly favours.
