Did anyone have Sexy Cora? She would have been a good pickup being only 23 & therefore eligible for the Under 30 bonus.

You have to admire that attempt on the world record.

Hehehe, nice pick up, Wally. But she only made it a third of the way to her attempted world record. That's still arm-in-a-sling, lockjaw-and-a-lot-of-calories material.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
I've never heard of this poor woman, but there is so much that disturbs me about that article ... an unnecessary operation, almost certainly performed by incompetent money-grabbing publicity-seeking types, with anaesthetic 'assistance' provided by the bored and minimally skilled, all of course incapable of rendering real assistance when the need arose urgently. She will almost certainly die or remain in a vegetative state ... and here we ignoring the human tragedy, 'apparently' 'titillated' by her picture. I am repulsed by the story. Perhaps I'm having a bad day.

Moral and ethical outrage noted, your lardness, but you should've checked the Wiki article Wally also linked in that same post. The poor lass lapsed into "death on January 20."

Cold Chisel's original drummer passed away too. Perfectly healthy until diagnosed with a brain tumour two weeks ago. Same thing happened to Matt Price (great journo) a couple of years ago.
Man get diagnosed that way you'd better have your house in order and Nitshke's phone number.

Not outraged - more despair and world-weariness, really.

mea culpa. I don't read everything here, and I didn't even open that article. I felt I had already read enough to know where things were headed.

Aye, a sadly predictable end to the sorry story. Like I said, having a bad day. Or week.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
Unless you're one of the 'picks', of course, which, on the basis of past history, appears to guarantee preservation, in the face of imminent demise, almost to the point of immortality. Michael Douglas, for instance, is the latest in a long line of FB Forum CDL picks to have staged a spectacular recovery from a life-threatening condition recently. I feel we are almost performing a public service in helping preserve these crusty old celebrities for continued public delectation.

Here was one that got away.
Fitness pioneer Jack LaLanne dies at 96
FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- The death of Jack LaLanne on Sunday had people thankful for his role in improving so many lives. The man who first preached healthy eating and strength training died at the age of 96.
He was good enough to get a run on the Simpsons.

Yes indeedy as here:
Zsa Zsa Gabor Released From Hospital A Week After Amputation
I'm thinking of naming myself in next year's picks as it will surely guarantee me 12 months of certain life (although, perhaps, minus the odd limb)

I decided not to play but I take it that somebody picked Christopher Hitchens? Pretty much nailed on to pass away this year.

It's not too late, vilks. Nominations close at the end of Jan. As incentive, nobody has picked Hitchens.

Ms Richie will reach the big 3-0 on 21 September but according to Gus (who devised this thread) and Skulls you are within the rules for the whole year so who am I to cavil?
